A/N: I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season! Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy whatever-you-celebrate, if you celebrate anything. I'm rambling now, so let's just get to the story.
“Do you have to leave now?” Zayn asks me.
We are sitting in his apartment, waiting for Liz to get out the bathroom. The rest of the night went well; saw more fans, ate a delicious pastry, and then went bowling. In the end, we played three games, and us girls won all three. After we finished the games, Harry went home, and the rest of us went back to the apartments. Eleanor and Louis left together, Niall went to go sleep, and Dani and Liam called it a night as well. Zayn, Liz, and I decided to watch a movie. We ended up watching Bride Wars, and although Zayn looked bored, he sat there through the whole movie, holding my hand. Now that the movie is over, Liz and I decided that we should get home.
“Yes, I do. What’s wrong Malik? You gonna miss me?” I tease.
“Of course I am. But come on. Do you really HAVE to leave now?” he asks, pulling me onto his lap.
“Yes, she does. You can’t have her all to yourself, dude.” Liz says as she walks back in.
“Please, please you two. Don’t fight over me. I’m not that special.” I say, winking at Liz, who grins in return.
“Yes you are! So smart, beautiful, adorable, and— wait a second. I’m not playing this game.” Zayn says, finally catching on.
“Aww why not? I love hearing about what makes me special. Keep going, Malik.” I say, as he glares at me.
“Ok then. If I had to narrow it down to one thing that makes you special, I would either have to say it is the fact that you say most of your thoughts out loud, or the way you said my name earlier when we were fu— ”
“Shut up, Zayn!” I say, covering his mouth with my hand. Liz laughs as I start to blush.
“You asked for it.” Zayn says, removing my hand.
“You two are so cute. But Jayd, it’s time to say goodbye, the cab will be here any minute.” Liz says.
“Ok. Goodnight Zayn.” I say, giving him a hug.
“I’ll walk you two out.” he says.
“No! Stay here. You’ll see her tomorrow.” Liz says
“Yeah babe, we’re good.” I tell him, giving him a kiss. Liz grabs my arm and drags me to the door.
“Whoa, girl. What is the rush?” I ask her.
“I’m trying to stop as much physical contact between the two of you as possible, before you crazy animals start making my godchildren sooner than expected.” Liz says, causing Zayn and I both to laugh.
“Ok then. Bye Zayn!” I say, as Liz closes the door behind us.
“Nice save back there, Liz.” I say as soon as we’re in the elevator.
“Thank y— Wait. How’d you know?” Liz says, looking at me surprised.
“You’re my best friend.” I say, smiling at her. “Which is why I know that the only reason you didn’t want Zayn to walk us was because you never called a cab. You want to walk home so that we can talk about what happened earlier. And you knew he wouldn’t allow us to walk home, at least, not alone. You are so sneaky.” I say admiringly.
“Thank you. And wow, you know me well. Now spill!” she says.
“Where should I begin?” I ask her, as the elevator opens and we walk into the lobby.
