Aspin woke up, this time in a pool of sweat, his wings shivered from the cold gust of wind that pooled in from the open window, and he cursed himself at the cool gust of wind which floated in like a phantom breeze which clung to him, and he bit back his freezing curse as he slammed the window shut the only response was the loud clink as it closed.
He heard James' steps before the scent of him came fluttering into his chambers stinging his nose.
The door opened, and closed. Yet, there was silence around them, and then James appeared, his smile was genuine and it never once faltered from his face.
Aspin could sense the change in the air even before James had told him that they had found her, briefing him of where he had seen. How long has it been since James has been away looking for her? Lilith Amere was her name. Aspin smiled at James and his kingdom was saved.
Aspin had the sensation to hug his friend, but instead said thanks; offering James a warm smile before vanishing.
He knew it, somewhere on this ungodly earth he knew it; he knew that he would find her, even if he had the slightest doubt which he did. everyday was packed with the same news, and everyday he started to give up.
Aspin followed the trail that James told him to take just before vanishing into the crisp chill of the early winter morning.
He watched the earth below him making out the silhouette of evergreen trees and large oaks. Many small villages which occupy the free space in between, any space that could be turned into a small village was turned into a village, some were endless, but some were dead, burnt at the orders of his father marking traders.
He started thinking to himself, about his kingdom, about his wicked father, and about the looming darkness which killed his mother only a month ago.
His Arraggent father who took pride in ordering people around, and taking innocent lives, got down on his knees, and weeped for the loss of his beloved wife, and ever since then his father has become a deranged psychopath who wanted blood and revenge.
he seemed to have let his rage become a living thing, and Aspin seemed to start to fear his father more and more everyday.
He was always gone, always away on meetings, and trips that he never seemed to mention anymore leaving Aspin on his own fending for their kingdom.
Aspin and James, to his surprise, have found out more information about who and what the darkness is.
It has only been a month since then, and honestly everything has only gotten worse.
He stares ahead of himself, and into the deep forest below and then the world goes dark.
I have fallen to earth....
I let out a sharp cry of pain as I started to feel the warmth of my blood hot against my wings. I gently pulled out the arrow; which only seemed to make the blood drip more frequently; running along my side.
I did not have time to act, as she came crashing into me, throwing all of her weight. I hit the large oak tree with a loud thud that only seemed to echo through the earth.
She held her sword against my throat; my eyes pleading for a brief second.
I closed my eyes in that instant. I was hungrily waiting for the feel of blood to come trickling down, and for death to take over.
The smell of metal grew near stinging my nose; as my heart seemed to drum against my breast bone. This is not how I am supposed to die, I say to her." I am prince Aspin of Ash" i say to her and the look that crossed her face made me gulp down fear " why tell me this it will only make me want to kill you more" she purred "I have came to make you a deal that you can refuse Lithilth Amere" I say to her smiling as she continued to hold her sword against my throat.
