I stir as I hear the sound of a fire cackling in the background, my back and heading aching violently. I settle and choose to peel my eyes open, instantly seeing the night sky.
"Y/N?" I hear a familiar voice, I try to turn my head in the direction it came from, but decide against it when I'm struck with my pain. Before I say anything Levi instantly comes into my line of vision, leaning over me with his hair brushing my face. I notice some bandages around his cheek and lightly smile.
"Y/N." He mutters, staring down out me with his beautiful grey eyes.
"Hey." I manage to mumble, my throat scratchy. I suddenly hear a mix of voices in the background, but I'm too distracted by Levi who his caressing my cheek with him right hand. I grasp his hand, my arm sore but choosing to ignore it.
"Can you sit up?" He asks, I shake my head and he lifts me up my by arms, allowing me to sit up and rest on his side. I instantly notice a massive titan lying down beside up and let out a shriek.
"W-what?" I point at the familiar titan while stuttering, "Does anyone else see the Cart Titan??"
"Yes." I hear and suddenly Hange crouches in front of me, "You missed about a day a half. Everyone is here."
"Everyone?" I question, "Wait, am I dead?" I glance over Levi who stares at me incredulously.
"No." Hange chuckles and then moves away, gesturing to several people and my eyes widen.
"Huh?" I mumble, trying to piece together what is happening to failing miserably.
Jean, Armin, Mikasa, Connie. Annie and Reiner. Onyankopon and Yelena. Killer children. Commander of the Marleyean army.
"What happened?" I ask and then grip my head with my right hand, wincing in pain, "Sorry, I feel lightheaded."
Levi pulls out a towel and hands it to me, "Your nose is bleeding a little bit."
"Oh," I take the towel and bring it up to my face, wiping my nose and holding it there.
"After zeke escaped-" Hange begins to explain but I quickly interrupt her, staring at her with wide eyes and then glancing over at Levi.
"How did Zeke escape?!" I ask, "We were watching him closely. And why did we split off with the other soldiers?"
"Y/N..." Levi narrows his eyes, "What's the last thing you remember?"
"What do you me what's the last thing I remember? We were watching the soldiers drink wine and Zeke read his book. Next thing I know, I'm lying down here, bandages around my back and left arm, surrounded by certain people I thought were trying to kill us."
Levi lets out a sigh and runs his hands through his hair, looking away. I glance over at Hange who is staring me speechless.
"What?" I ask.
"You obtained those injuries when Zeke escaped, one and a half days ago. The day after the soldiers drank the wine." Armin logically explains, his arms crossed.
"You don't remember what happened that day?" Levi asks, his eyes wide. I tilt my head before shaking it.
"Zeke spiked the wine with Titan serum." Hange composed herself and began explaining, "The next day, he used his power to turn all the soldiers into Titans and attack both you and Levi, since you two didn't drink any alcohol."
I listen to Hange carefully, absorbing the information with confusion.
"Both you and Levi managed to take down the titans without issues and captured Zeke, threatening him with a thunder rod to his chest. Unfortunately, you two didn't anticipate-"
"We didn't anticipate that the blonde bastard would be willing to die for his dreams." Levi grits his teeth.
"And that's how you both got hurt." Hange sadly smiles, "While you were out we found out that Eren wasn't teaming up with Zeke, but instead planning to start the rumbling to kill everyone outside the walls. We ended up deciding to put aside out differences and work together to prevent mass genocide.
I nod my head, trying to comprehend the information while anger bubbles up inside of me, from Eren' actions and my jumbled up brain. "I'm tired of saving and helping Eren all the time, just to be deceived." I mutter and look up. I notice my fellow soldiers from the 104th staring at me flabbergasted. "Thank you for lending your help." I nod at the Commander from the Marley.
"Its not problem, we have a common goal. My name is Commander Magath." He replies while I glance over at Reiner and Annie.
"Its nice to see you two as well. Even though you betrayed us, I understand you did it for your country." I sigh. Reiner turns his head away, not meeting my eyes.
"I'm only here because I want to save my Father in Marley." She mutters, "Stopping Eren happens to be the way to do that."
"I get it." I nod, briefly thinking about my mother in Marley and how she will probably die.
"You are a lot more civil compared to the others, Y/N." Hange grins, placing a hand on my shoulder, "The others argued over history before you woke up." She chuckles which causes me to laugh too.
"Honestly, I think over time I have come to the realisation that anything goes in our world now, and the only thing I can do is side with my beliefs. So if my beliefs align with that of a Marleyean Commander and a controversial few titan shifters, the only brave option is to side with them. " I explain, chuckling a bit at the end and pulling my knees to my chest and resting my head on Levi shoulder.
"Nicely said." Armin remarks with a small grin and I shrug my shoulders, "I'm glad you're awake."
"Thank you." I smile, "Although I'm not sure if I will be useful on the battlefield."
Everyone laughs at this and as I feel slightly better due the nice atmosphere with the sound of some bubbling soup in the background. I glance up at Levi for a second and notice him smiling down at me, to which I roll my eyes.
"Y/N." He says and I hum in response, looking away, "I love you."
