The journey to King's Cross was very easy. They reached King's Cross with twenty minutes to spare; the Ministry drivers found them trolleys, unloaded their trunks, touched their hats in salute to Mr. Weasley, and drove away, somehow managing to jump to the head of an unmoving line at the traffic lights.

Mr. Weasley kept close to Harry's elbow all the way into the packed station. Mrs. Weasley did the same with Celeste, tailing right behind her.

"Right then," he said, glancing around them. "Let's do this in pairs, as there are so many of us. I'll go through first with Harry." The group got into pairs and slipped through the wall between platforms 9 and 10.

As the group entered platform nine and three-quarters, they all looked up to see the Hogwarts Express, a scarlet steam engine, puffing smoke over a platform packed with witches and wizards seeing their children onto the train.

Celeste could help but notice the witches and wizards looking at her, whispering to their children as they looked at her with disgust in their eyes. Celeste knew that this was going to happen. That she was going to be targeted due to her father. Harry saw Celeste falling behind, hesitating to get on the train. He grabbed her hand and gave it a tight squeeze, causing Celeste to look up at Harry.

"Hey, you're going to be fine. Don't listen to any of them." Celeste smiled at Harry, thankful that he didn't shove her away. Harry, Ron, and Hermione were some of the first people to actually include her in their group. Others just left her behind, one way or another.

Once they joined the rest of the Weasleys and Hermione, Mr. Weasley led the way to the end of the train, past packed compartments, to a carriage that looked quite empty. They loaded the trunks onto it, stowed Hedwig, Crookshanks, and Onyx in the luggage rack, then went back outside to say their goodbyes to Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. After a few kisses and hugs, the group boarded the train.

Harry, Celeste, Ron, and Hermione set off down the corridor, looking for an empty compartment, but all were full except for the one at the very end of the train.

"Come on. Everywhere else is full." Hermione told the rest of them as she pointed towards the empty compartment.

This had only one occupant, a man sitting fast asleep next to the window. The Hogwarts Express was usually reserved for students and the four had never seen an adult there before, except for the trolley witch.

The stranger was wearing an extremely shabby set of wizard's robes that had been darned in several places. He looked like he had not gotten a proper good-nights sleep in years. Though quite young, his light brown hair was flecked with gray. Something in the back of Celeste's head told her that she knew him, but she had no clue why.
