"Aha! I got the pest!" The man said while holding Peter's leg making him hang upside down.

"Ah great! While you have him, off to the center of the courtyard to judge the games after our contestants after warming up" the King said as he exits the tent and goes to the center where the contest was held.

"What should we do with him?", "I don't know", "Maybe we should feed him to the pigs", "We shouldn't do that it's a child" The crowd of people said.

"Maybe we should make it a servant" The man said. A lady stood up from her seat.

"Wait" The lady said making the whole tent silent while looking at her.

"It's just a child, they're probably lost or hungry" The lady protested. The man put Peter down and the lady walked up to Peter.

"What's your name?" The lady asked. Peter hesitated to talk but changed his mind.

"...P-Peter" Peter replied.

"Oh, Hi Peter! I'm Lady Maggie II from the Northern parts of Sweden. Are you lost?" The lady asked.

"I don't think so..." Peter replied. The lady kneeled down to Peter's level.

"Where are your parents?" The lady once again asked. Peter frowned and looked down.

"I don't have any..." Peter said in a sad tone. Peter put his hands in front of his face to expect a slap, just like how the orphanage owner treated them. The lady frowned and suddenly hugged Peter which made him surprised.

"Aw don't worry, I'm gonna take care of you. I lost my mother when I was your age...So I decide I'm gonna be a great mother for you" The lady said to comfort Peter.

"Thank you!" Peter hugged back. The people in the tent looked at them and started minding their own business while rolling their eyes.

"What do you say. Should we take you to our new home?" The lady asked. Peter nodded.

The two went outside, this place of the courtyard is less crowded by this time because the folks were off to go to the center of the courtyard where the archery games were held.

"Not so fast Mags" A man grabbed Peter by the wrist. Making Peter flinch.

"I ain't lettin' ya adopt a child" The man said emphasizing the word 'adopt'.

"And why not?" Maggie put her hands on either sides her hips.

"I don't wanna have a child that is not related to me" The man replied.

"Seymour now is not the time..." Maggie pinched the bridge of her nose.

"Ah well you see, It is the time! It could and will be" Seymour said while making gestures on his free hand while he tightens the grip on this other hand making Peter scared.

"Let me go! Let me go! It hurts!" Peter cried out while pulling his arm.

"Seymour! It's just a child! Let him go!" Maggie yelled while holding Peter's other arm. Seymour tightened his grip more which made Peter cried in pain.

"SEYMOUR!" Maggie got closer to Seymour and slapped him hard making him let go of Peter.

"That's no way to treat a child! And stop ignoring your wife you bloody son of a mule!" Maggie yelled.

"Maggie, Language" Seymour said.

"Anyways I'll be off, you and I will take care of our new son, Take it or Leave it" Maggie said in a harsh tone while holding Peter and walked away.

"That darn kid, he will pay for taking Maggie's love from mine" Seymour mumbled.

[Meanwhile]

Lucas and Valerie ran back to the orphanage and went through the metal fence where they last escaped from. By the time Lucas and Valerie got inside they weren't expecting that the owner of the orphanage caught them.

"So, you two thought that we never noticed the hole on the fence so you two can sneak out huh? Well, time to teach you two a lesson" The owner said while grabbing and pulled both of their arms and took the sack of food.

When they got inside, the other kids were silent while looking at the two.

"Mission failed guys" Lucas said while walking away with the owner.

"Where's Peter?" Felicia asked. Valerie and Lucas looked down and the other kids frowned.

"Pssst" Valerie called out a nearby kid called 'Victor'.

"Plan B" Valerie whisper yelled.

Valerie and Lucas got inside the owner's office to have a talk to the owner.

"You hear Val ladies and gentlemen! Plan B!" Victor said. The kids then went inside the bedroom and took  hidden stuff from under their beds.

Felicia took a roll of newspaper, Victor took a small bag full of pebbles and Wayne took handkerchiefs that were tied together to make a rope.

Felicia and Victor climbed up the rooftop from the bedroom window after Wayne and Chandler tied the rope on a leg of a bed to Felicia and Victor's waist.

Victor started throwing rocks inside the chimney of the orphanage lobby while Felicia started making crow noises using the newspaper to make her voice louder. Wayne gave the signal to the other kids to start to act panicking and tell the owner that the crows have broken in the chimney again.

"If you two are gonna caught sneaking out again, I will kick you out and you'll have to live in the streets" The owner said.

"But Miss Dunca-" Lucas was cut off by the children screaming outside the office.

"Miss Duncan! The crows are back again! And they're trying to break in from the chimney!!!" A kid said.

"You better hurry! They're gonna steal the food!" Another kid said.

"Oh my Lord not this again" Miss Duncan pinched her nose. She stood up and grabbed a nearby broom and walked to the doorway.

"Hold on! I'm gonna handle this!" Miss Duncan yelled.

Lucas took the sack of food and ran with Val to the bedroom to hide it under his bed.

"Shoo! Shoo!" Miss Duncan hits the inside of the chimney hoping for the birds to stop. As the owner was distracted, Chandler and Wayne pulled the rope twice to signal Victor and Felicia to go back. Victor and Felicia received the signal and ran back to the window and untied the handkerchiefs around their waist.

"Hey! The birds stopped!" A kid cheered.

"Yeah, how convenient" another kid said sarcastically.

"Alright, now that's over, I need to patch up that hole in the fence to prevent any of you from escaping" Miss Duncan said harshly while walking to the storage room.

[Time skip to bedtime]

"Alright everyone, you need some rest, goodnight" Miss Duncan said and switched off the lights.

Lucas opened his eyes and sat up. He grabbed the sack under his bed and placed the food on the middle of the room. He lit up the lights which caused the other kids to wake up.

"Guys, feast time!" Lucas whisper-yelled. The other kids silently cheered and ate the delicious foods that they never tasted before.
