The Queen's Jet

"I must say, my darling Regina, the look on my brother's face when he realized that he could've saved himself from harm was priceless." Loki smirked.

"Kill 'em with kindness that's what my mother always told me. She's gone now, but.." Regina trailed off.

"You don't need to explain anything to me. All I care about it winning this war, and finally getting a kingdom of my own."

"I can assure you that is exactly what you are going to get."

"Woohoo!" Regina yelled, feeling the wind rush through her hair as her horse galloped steadily through the meadow.

It was the first time in months since she had been married to King Leopold that she had been allowed out on her own, and she chose to spend that time doing what she loved the most. Riding.

Regina could spend hours on end riding horses until the sun went down. After all, it was the only time she had to clear her head and forget all of her worries and sadness.

A large flash of green light lit up the forest trees in front of her, the action spooking her horse. The large animal reared up high, and the young queen clutched it's mane tightly, but it wasn't enough. Her fingers slipped, and she fell towards the ground. Seconds before her back came in contact with the harsh dirt of the forest, strong arms slipped underneath her, and caught her tightly.

Regina's head spun as she tried to look up at the person who had saved her life. It was a young man. His piercing emerald green eyes studied her face as she came to, and she gasped, lurching forwards to get out of his comforting grasp.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." He apologized.

"It's fine." She brushed him off, stepping away from his crouching form.

"Are you hurt? I saw your horse rear up and I'd hoped I'd caught you in time."

"I'm fine."

"That's good to hear." The man smiled, running a hand through his short, raven black hair. "I'm Loki by the way."

"The Prince of Asgard?" Regina cocked her head to the side. "What are you doing here in Vanaheim?"

"My father brought me and my brother here for a visit to congratulate King Leopold on his new marriage. We couldn't make it to the wedding, so he thought it would be more formal to come and meet his new wife personally."

"Hmm.. well I don't think you'll be too excited when you meet her. I don't think she's exactly fitting in."

"I bet she's just getting used to life as a royal. I know I'm not always into it myself. By the way, I didn't catch your name."

"Regina." She replied.

"Nice to meet you."

The sound of hooves thudding on the ground echoed throughout the forest, and in seconds, King Leopold's men had Regina and Loki surrounded.

"My Queen, the King has visitors and he would like to introduce you to them." A guard spoke to Regina.

"My Queen?" Loki whipped his head around.

Regina ignored him. "Visitors? From what realm?"

"The King of Asgard, my Queen, and his two sons, one which you have seem to have met already." The guard nodded towards Loki. "My Prince, welcome to Vanaheim."
