Holy shit holy shit holy shit.

Today is the day.

I know I promised her this, but it's been like over a year. Toriel gave me the money for it. God bless her.

'God bless her'... Who are you? When did you start using religious metaphors?

Fuck. Keep my head in the game. This is your first real date. Only... a year after getting together.

Ugh, I'm such a shit girlfriend.

No! Snap out of it! Life has been hectic. It isn't your fault.

"My child, are you going to get out of the car and knock?" Toriel's voice startled me out of my own brain. Embarrassment flushed my cheeks. Without saying anything, I opened the car door and stumbled onto the asphalt.

Stop shaking. It's fine. Noelle's mom likes you. It's not like she's caught you making out with her daughter or anything. Wait, fuck... FUCK!

I forced myself to keep walking up the door. Every damn step felt like there was wet cement in my shoes. Or maybe my shoes were the wet cement.

After what felt like ten million years but also two goddamn seconds, I was standing at Noelle's door. The same door I'd stood at just over a year ago asking Noelle if I could stay the night. The same door I stood at, waiting to give Noelle the locket she now never takes off. The same door I sat in front of after being kicked out by Mrs. Holiday two months when she accused me of "being too frisky" with her daughter.

Yeah, that door.

I hesitantly reached up and knocked. The door swung open almost immediately. Mrs. Holiday stood there, staring down at me.

"Good morning, m-ma'am," I stuttered. Her eyes stared straight into my soul. Her fucking stare made me feel like the scum of the earth. Apparently the nice clothes I'd worn did nothing to make her think more of me.

Noelle appeared in front of me a few long seconds later. "Hi, Susie!" she said happily, practically glowing.

Who knew it was possible? Not I! But my face grew even redder and I fell for her even more! What a lesbian am I!

Mrs. Holiday cleared her throat impatiently. "I expect you both to behave and act as if I'm always watching." She turned her eyes on me. "Hands above the waist and above ALL layers of clothes."

I swallowed, trying to mask my shaking. "Yes, ma'am."

She huffed before straightening her tie. "I have to go in today, Noelle, but I expect you home by 3, capeesh?"

Noelle nodded before walking over and grabbing my arm. "Yes, mom, I know. Ms. Dreemurr is going to be there, so you don't have to worry." My girlfriend dragged me down the front steps and over to Toriel's car before her mom could say anything else. "LOVE YOU BYEEEEEEE!!!" she shouted over her shoulder. "In, in, in, go, go, go."

I couldn't help but laugh. The stress that had been on my shoulder released. Noelle's touch never failed to calm me down.

Toriel started driving as soon as we were buckled. Our fingers were locked together in the seat between us. "So, my children, any big plans for today? Colors Are Mine, of course, but anything else?"

Noelle looked over at me. "I thought you were staying with us the whole time," I answered, confused.

"Oh! Yes, that's what I told the mayor. My children, you won't be children forever. You need to learn how to make your own decisions and be your own people. Of course, if you need a ride anywhere, I will take you, but I have other things to do. Teenagers don't need to be babysat."
