Chapter 15

They all stepped off of the train and there stood Mirajane, Lauxus, and their daughter, Nova. Reiki quickly ran over to Nova and pulled her into a tight hug. Giggling she said, "Okay, I missed you too."

Nashi looked over at the two as jealousy is written all over her face. "Who is this?" she asked.

The two pulled apart and held hands. It was pretty obvious by now that these two were an item, but Nashi couldn't accept this. "I'm Nova," the girl said with a smile and a wave.

"My girlfriend," Reiki blushed as he scratched the back of his neck.

"Um... yeah," Nova said, looking to the ground.

Nashi hated this and felt super envious. Just as she was about to say something she might later regret, she felt her brothers hand on her shoulder. "Don't," he whispered.

Sighing, Nashi kept her mouth shut. It was better not to say anything anyway. No matter how much Nashi would like to break the two up and maybe give Nova a little punch to the face, she was still a vital part to getting Fairy Tail back together.

"I'm Mirjane," said a woman with long flowing white hair, "and this is my husband, Laxus." She pointed to the blond haired man that stood next to her.

"It's nice to meet you," Luke said as he shook both their hands.

"Likewise," said Laxus. "Let's head back to our house. Lisanna and Bickslow should be here within the next few hours."

"Alright, lead the way," Erza said.

"Okay, so Jellal and Erza can share a room in one of the guest bedrooms. Reiki's on the couch and Rosemary will stay with Nova in her room," Laxus said. "I'm sure you all know where everything is by now, so you can go and get settled in."

"Where are we staying?" asked Gale.

"You guys are staying as my sister Lisanna's place!" Mirajane said. "It's a lot bigger than here, so she will be able to give you more space."

"Where should we put our stuff in the meantime?" Sylvia asked.

"Put it in the guest bedroom for now," Laxus said.

"Here, I'll show you all to the room," Erza said.

"Hey Nova?" Jellal called to her.

"Yeah?"

"Could you show Rosemary to your room?" he asked.

"Dad, I know where her room is," Rosemary said with a pout on her face.

"I know, but she can show you where to put everything, so you aren't messing with her stuff," Jellal told Rosemary.

"Actually, I need to go do something. You can show her up, I don't mind where she puts her stuff," Nova responded.

"Okay, come on Rosemary."

Everyone headed up the stairs as Mirajane prepared dinner. Laxus didn't do much kitchen work so he helped everyone get situated. Reiki was still in the living room, putting his stuff by the couch, but also out of the way. Nova stood behind him and scratched her arm. "Hey, we need to talk," she said.

"About what?" Reiki asked.

Nova sighed, "About us."

Reiki turned around to face her. "Why?" he asked. The absolute worse went running through his mind. 'Talk about us?' he thought. 'Is she breaking up with me?'

"I can't do this anymore. This long distance thing is killing me. I want to be around you all the time. I want to cuddle, to hold hands, and kiss just like every other couple," Nova said and brushed her hand through her hair.

"But we can make it work! I'll come over more, just- please stay with me," he pleaded as he grabbed her hands.

"No, Reiki," she said as she pulled her hands away. "It's over."

Reiki opened his mouth to say something, but it was too late. She had walked up the stairs. He was conflicted. Why did it have to end? How long had she been planning on this breakup? Couldn't they have made it work?

"Reiki!" Luke called to him. Reiki was brought back from his thoughts.

"Yeah, what?" Reiki asked, facing the opposite direction.

"Are you okay?" Luke asked walking towards him.

"Of course, why do you ask?" he turned to face him with a smile.

"Sorry, you didn't face me for a second and it sounded like something had happened."

Reiki laughed, "That was nothing."

"Okay, well I was thinking about going to the shops with Gale, Storm, and Rin. Would you like to come with us?" Luke asked.

"Sure, let's go," said Reiki.

As the five walked to the shops, Reiki's mind was clouded. He didn't have time to think about what happened before he was asked to go. Not that he even felt like going anyway. It felt as if there was a giant hole in his chest and like it was hard to breathe. Like no matter how hard he tried, not enough air ever came into is lungs.

He then felt a buzz through his lacrima phone. A text from Nova that read, "Let's keep our breakup a secret. I don't want to make it awkward for our family or friends."

"Sure, whatever."
