Dominic's POV.
She didn't even know, the arrogant pricks had arranged a union between two kingdoms, but two people as well and one of them didn't even know.
Up until now the thought of this engagement repulsed me, I had heard of the Dempsey princess, every man in the universe had heard of her, mostly because she had slept with all of them.
I assumed that this whole engagement was her idea, I'd had nightmares about this clingy, overly made up slut that had convinced her father he needed a union with our kingdom, my kingdom and I wanted out.How had I only remembered there were 2 daughters! God Dominic you are thick.
My father had made this agreement with Guinevere's father a few weeks back and I couldn't wrap my head around it.
I ruled my kingdom, my father had the title of King but he hadn't left his bedroom in the last 3 years, I was responsible for every duty and every hardship, but the one cliche that I always believed in was true love and suddenly my father had the right to make the decision of my marriage without my council! But all of my anger and all of the worries I had slipped out of my mind when I looked at the scene in front of me, cameras flashing, clapping, cheering, lights and she looked terrified, it was like time had slowed down, she was trembling and I had been such a dick to her, what was she going to think of me now!
She was still shaking when I indicated to her father to continue the celebrations, I had to get her out of here, I could get her out before all of the commotion of congratulations began.
The music started again and the clapping stopped so I grabbed her hand and backed out one of the side doors to the garden.
Gwen's POV.
Flashing, clapping, cheering. And then it stopped and I was outside.
I suddenly became conscious of someone's hands on my shoulders, Dominic that bastard.
"You're ok, you're ok, just breathe." His calming voice was even huskier when he was whispering, it calmed me a little.
"What- what the fuck just happened!?" I gasped, I could barely make out what I said myself.
"I thought you knew, I'm so sorry for how I acted in there, I thought you were going to be some slut." He half-laughed at that last bit. Excuse me.
"Not that I think you are a slut, I thought you were gonna be just like your sister, not that your sister is a slut..." He lifted one of his hands to his forehead.
"Oh believe me, she is." I laughed to try and make him feel better, I don't know how since I was still figuring out how to form words again, But it must of worked because he gave a little smirk.
"Well you're handling it a lot better than me. I broke a few lamps." He shrugged.
I laughed, almost hysterically, he must think I'm crazy but how is it possible we both ended up in the same situation.
"Do you wanna go?" He leaned in a little closer and I got the full scent of his cologne.
"I suppose now I understand why you said we." I laughed, still trying to come to terms with what just happened.
"My car's out front," He stood up and straightened out his jacket, suddenly he looked intimidating again and I could see the moment of vulnerability had passed, he reached for my hand as he pulled me onto my feet, I hadn't even noticed I'd fallen down.
He lead me to a parked up Bugatti and held open the door for me to step inside, I glared at him hesitantly "You really were serious about me coming with you?"
"We are pressed for time unfortunately and yes, I would have told you sooner had I known you hadn't already been informed." He spoke with an impatient tone in his voice and at this point I had no reason to question him, everyone but him seemed to be lying today.
I got in the passengers side and he got in the drivers almost immediately after, "You don't have drivers?" I questioned, he was a Prince after all.
"I do, I tend not to use them for gatherings such as this, I love driving and I don't need people thinking I'm weak as to need people to drive me everywhere." I nodded, understandable.
A few moments silence passed, not an awkward silence, calm and peaceful.
He lifted one hand off the steering wheel and gently grazed my cheek, looking curiously into my eyes, "You're still shaking?" Was I? I hadn't noticed.
My eyes wandered to the speedometer, "JESUS CHRIST! ARE YOU MAD, EYES ON THE ROAD!" He chuckled and reluctantly turned his gaze back to the road, he had been going 90.
"Not fond of speed then?" A shade of wickedness played on his smirk, it was still gorgeous all the same, but I could sense the hidden meaning of his words and it made me blush.
"Just drive." He chuckled, turning his head slightly towards me before I shot him a glare that said "I'm warning you."
-Cheeky, isn't he? Any thoughts on their relationship thus far?
