HorrorTale Sans x Reader

I sneeze due to the chilling cold that surrounds me. I've just left behind The Ruins. A dark place where Toriel lives. My original Toriel was so sweet and kind, but this one was paranoid and almost lacked the original's motherly personality.

I shake either from the cold, or the fear of meeting Sans. My feet stay glued to the snow, and I let out a couple of shaky breaths. If this place was anything like my AU, Sans must be watching me this very moment. I'm unsure of what he's like, but my hopes have been dashed due to Toriel's odd behavior.

Even Flowey scared me to death. His single eye piercing my soul. I take a deep breath, hold it, and let it out. Causing a puff of smoke to trail off. I build up the courage, and finally set off towards the bridge built by Papyrus. When standing near the branch in front of the gate, I pause. I'm sure this Sans finds it very odd that I'm just standing there.

I tentatively step forward, and let the branch snap under my weight. I hear the familiar buzz of Sans magic, and hesitantly turn around. A large grin is plastered on his skull. Not only that, but he has a large hole cut into his skull. I whimper, and cower away. This isn't my Sans. Nothing here made sense, and I begin shaking again.

"daw, somebody must be freezing." Sans says in a teasing voice. I clamp my hand over my mouth, and take a few deep breaths. "say, are you hungry? i've got just the thing." Sans says, his voice getting darker. I remove my hand, and stare up at him.

"S-Sans..?" I ask. My voice is desperate as I yearn for the comfort of my old friend. The skeleton in front of me freezes up, and glares down at me. " 'ey, how do you know that name?" He asks. I shake my head. "You a-arent my Sans. This isn't w-where I b-belong. I-I just want to g-go back.." I whine.

Sans pauses for a moment. He studies me, and leans back. "i got no idea what you're goin' on about." He says. I hug myself, and tear up. "I just want him back." I say. The Sans in front of me raises a bone-brow in confusion. "uh, who?" He asks. "Sans. My Sans." I say.

"not to be a downer, but i ain't your sans. probably far from it. i'm not sure where you came from, but you won't find the comfort you're looking for here. i could always treat you to dinner though." Sans says. "You're conniving personality leads me to not want to trust you." I say.

His grin falters, but he regains his composure. "well, keep walking, and you'll make it to snowdin. although, i doubt you'll make it past my brother. he's a human killing machine, so good luck." Sans says. He teleports off with a wink.

I wouldn't put it past this place to turn sweet, innocent, and kind Papyrus into a monster. A real monster. However, I take a deep breath, and power on. Although my friends may take on different appearances, and personalities, I still recognize the landscape. I know where to head, so I turn around.

Walking through the gate is a breeze, and I soon make it to where I first met Papyrus. I turn to the left, and see Sans' sentry station. A deep frown crosses my face, and I hug myself. "Sans where are you now..?" I say sadly. I hear a crash from in front of me.

I'm quick to cover my mouth in horror. "O-oh, Papyrus-" I stutter in disbelief. The Papyrus in front of me is hunched over. He wears the same clothing as my original, but his teeth are very noticeably displaced. They also have red blood dripping from them.

"Oh Paps, what happened to you...?" I whisper. The monster in front of me growls out an incomprehensible answer. "does it scare you? i think he's just adorable." I hear Sans say. I bite my bottom lip, and walk up to Papyrus. He has a bowl of spaghetti in his hand. It smells of dying animals.

I see Sans shift slightly in his spot. He's sitting at the sentry station. A clever is dug into the wood next to him. However, I ignore him, and step closer to Papyrus. "I-I don't understand. This isn't.. you." I whisper. Papyrus growls again, but it sounds as if he's asking a question.
