Chapter 5:
AVA POV:
“Sounds great! See you at 6.” I sang into the phone. I hope that didn't sound too eager. I thought to myself. Shaking the possibility out of my head I decided to figure out what I was going to wear tonight. I searched through my closet pulling out every exceptional thing I could wear. I couldn't wear my blue dress because hes already seen me in that. After an hour and a half of pulling out everything in my closet and trying to match tops with bottoms and dresses with jackets, I finally gave up. I rushed over to my phone and texted Keeley.
Me:‘CODE BLUE’
Keeley‘ON MY WAY’
I let out a sigh of relief. I am so glad my best friend is always there for me. I threw on a cute jacket and a pair of jeans just as keeley walked into my apartment.
“I’M HOME” She sang as she slammed the door behind her. I walked out of my room to greet her, and her jaw dropped.
“Why do we need to go to the mall again?” She questioned. I sighed.
“Because I can’t wear this on my first date with Jackson.” I explained to her.
“Right, what time is your date at?”
“6:00”
“Oh gosh, we gotta go then.”
She dragged me out the door and down to her car parked outside. I thanked Phil the doorman and he smiled at me.
“Ooo, hes cute,” Keeley said once we were in the car.
“No, you can not date my doorman.”
“You’re right, he’s totally into you.”
“Shut up. You remember why we’re going to the mall, right?”
“Yeah, I’m not sure what you see in him though, he's just a professional football player for some stupid team. Plus football players are dumb.”
“Look whos talking. Help me out, I can’t quite remember who it was that left the club early to go home with a football player.” I said sarcastically. We both burst out laughing at the remark as we pulled into the mall.

After a good two hours at the mall I finally chose a cute blue and white floral dress that came down above my knees. As for Keeley, she left with two dresses, a jacket, 3 skirts and a top. I checked my watch and the time read 4:27.
“Holy crap, we got to get back to get you ready.” Keeley exclaimed. We hurried to her car and she drove back a little faster than needed. A trip that should have taken us 20 minutes, took us 10. She pulled up right outside my apartment and left me to go park the car. Phil came out of the building and helped me take some of the bags. He escorted me to the elevator and deposited my bags safely inside.
“Thank you, Phil.” I said kindly.
“Any day Ms. Ava.” he tipped his hat and pressed the 7 button. He smiled and exited the elevator just as the doors shut behind him. Alone in the elevator, my heart started racing as I got excited about tonight. The bell dinged at the 7th floor and i hurried to grab all of my bags out. I reached my door and stuck the key in. It clicked and I let myself in. Placing the bags down on the counter, I checked the time, 4:45. I had an hour and 15 minutes to be ready. I turned the shower on and hopped in. Taking my time, I wanted to be sure that everything was perfect. I stepped out of the shower and dried myself off with a big fluffy white towel. Walking into my room I could hear the TV on in the living room, my guess was that Keeley let herself in. I grabbed a bath robe and tied it around myself. With about an hour left, I stated on my makeup and hair. 45 minutes later I was ready to put my dress and shoes on. I had decided to go with a pair of gold-ish 3 inch heels that pointed at the toe. I zipped the back of my dress up and walked out into the living room. Keeley, who was in a pair of my sweats and a t-shirt heard my heels and turned around to look at me. The Cheeto dropped out of her hand and for the second time today her jaw dropped.
“Damn.” She said.
“Stop it.” I plopped down on the couch next to her. I checked my phone, 5:59. And the waiting game begins.
