I turned on the television
All I would see
Is a bunch of petty killings
And a couple robberies
_
I turn it off and I sit down
I think how people are sick
While the stray dogs are barking
Kids just hit them with bricks
_
Sirens circling the blocks
Someone just got shot
I pray for their safety
This seems to happen alot
_
Our minds need to be stronger
We need to be ready to think
Our lives ain't getting much longer
We need to float and not sink
_
Children dying of hunger
Foreclosure on many corners
Friends murdering friends
We're living life not pretend
_
Stop the envy and hatred
Let us all come together
Our lives should be sacred
The world should get better
