CPT. FULLER:”I want that call traced. Find out who is this guy?”

I feel like I’m failing, my whole body is shaking, my partner walks towards me and gave a slight grip on my shoulder.

MARTY TALONS:”Are you okay?”

ME:”He called me Gabriela, nobody calls me that name.”

CPT. FULLER:”Who is Gabriela?”

ME:”That’s my name in my birth certificate but when I entered into academy I changed my name into Gabby. That’s the name in my transcript and in my records. Bank accounts, social security number, everything I haven’t use the name Gabriela since high school.”

MARTY TALONS:”So this pop candy, he knows your real name?”

CPT. FULLER:”And you said you haven’t use that name since high school?”

ME:”He knows me from high school that is a fact.”

CPT. FULLER:”Okay, Talons I want you to pulled out all the persons Gabriela Prescott has been in contact with during her high school years. I want every detail, dead or living. And make sure you pulled out photographs of these people.”

Cpt. Fuller phoned Pete and Hank, he told him what happened and give the orders to pull any information they can gather.

ME:”This is like we are looking a needle in a haystack.”

CPT. FULLER:”We will find this guy Gabby. We will find this son of a bitch.”

It’s almost midnight when the rest of my team gathered some information. But every photographs, every names that we check doesn’t fit pop candy’s profile. Most of them were good friends of mine, dear friends, families, classmates, some were admirers but I turned them down in a very nice way. All of them have their own alibi’s the night Priscilla Burns was murdered.

So none of them can be a suspect, even all those women who I have contact with, we gather all the info for those women might have a link with pop candy but we failed.

CPT.FULLER:”Why don’t we continue this tomorrow, we are all exhausted.”

Everybody agreed except me.

HANK BUCKNER:”Gabby stop, please you need to rest.”

CPT. FULLER:”I don’t think it’s a good idea for you to be alone Gabby.”

MARTY TALONS:”I figured that out already chief. I’ll stay with Gabby.”

CPT. FULLER:”Good, Garrison, send someone over Prescott’s house, I want them to guard Prescott.”

ME:”Marty will stay with me chief, I don’t think that guards are necessary.”

CPT. FULLER:”That’s an order Prescott.”

I was asleep when I felt the burn on my left arm, I moved but my hand was tied. I felt the heat again, I opened my eyes and realized that my hands are restrained with plastic handcuffs, and my mouth was trapped by a duck tape.

It was dark, the lampshade I left open when me and my partner decides to sleep were turned off. “Where is Marty?”

I tried to make a noise but there was something inside my mouth, a cloth, with a duct tape I would never be able to shout, again I felt the heat of a cigarette in my arms.

It was pop candy, inside my room, “Where the hell is Marty?” in my mind I am screaming. My feet were also restrained; I can’t move properly, I can’t fight this son of a bitch.

My tears began to fall as I thought of my situation, and my partner. “What did this son of a bitch does to my partner?” I tried to think as Pop candy continues to puff the cigarette.

I did squirm away but my effort is unavailing, I closed my eyes and opened it again hoping I can see hazily, but before I managed to identify anything like body build for example Pop candy grab my hair and pulled his face next to my left ear.

Pop Candy: “I am going to finish your misery Prescott, but not tonight.”

I tried to response with a warning but due to my restrained I can’t, then he moved away and jump through my window.

“Prescott!” I heard my partner scream, he walks towards to my room and turned the lights on.

MARTY TALONS:” I told you I should sleep in the couch.”

He said as he removes the duct tape and the cloth in my mouth.

ME:”He’s still here, Pop candy is here. He jumped through that window.

My partner handed me the knife he used to remove me from my strained. He jumped through the window. I cut my feet loose and grab for my gun under my pillow and run through the front door.

The two guards were lying on the floor with a plastic cuffs on their hands, they’re alive; I called for backup then let loose the guards. They asked me what happened when they regained their consciousness.

ME:”I should have asked you guys the same question?”

They said the last thing they remember was a smoke bomb came from the elevator. Then someone bump their heads then they were unconscious. My partner already finishes his search and the premises were clear.

MARTY TALONS:” I heard the thump on the floor when I opened the door there where smoke everywhere. Then someone used a stun gun at me.

Garrison and Buckner came with the backup and so does our Captain, Pete Garrison took our statement.

HANK BUCKNER:”You guys were supposed to take care of Prescott!”

MARTY TALONS:”Someone put a fucking stun gun at me…”

HANK BUCKNER:”Oh, that’s convenient.”

MARTY TALONS:”Please tell me you’re not blaming us with what happened to Prescott.”

ME:”It’s no one’s fault but him.

Everybody looked at me with a questioned “WHO” in their minds.

ME:”If there is someone to be blamed that should be Pop candy.”

I took a deep breath.

CPT FULLER:”I want everyone in our office to take course in this investigation, call everyone, this is a top priority case and I want it done now.”

PETE GARRISON:”I don’t think you should stay here Prescott it’s not safe here.

ME:”Nowhere is safe.”

CPT FULLER:”I will double your guards and the three of you will accompany Prescott. No one leaves the premises, and no one leaves Prescott alone.

ME:”You don’t have to do that Captain, I have to face pop candy and…”

CPT FULLER:”That’s an order!”

ME:”But sir…”

PETE GARRISON:”No buts’ Prescott, whether you like it or not we are in this together.”

ME:”I need to do this alone, if Pop candy invades my privacy I don’t want anyone to get hurt. You can’t protect me always; I need to face him alone.

CPT FULLER:”We are in this together, no objections Gabby.”
