You are the villain, but unaware of it
I slit his throat open and smiled as the blood came pouring out. He fell to his knees, choking on his own blood as he tried to speak.
"Y-you bitch" he managed to get out before falling to the ground unmoving.
"I'm sorry? What was that? I couldn't quite catch that, you see I was admiring the pretty color flowing out from you-..." I paused and turned to look at the now stagnant corpse. "Oh? You're no fun. Dying on me already? I thought you'd be more of a fighter...I guess not"
Careful not to step in him I made my way over to the girl sitting on the floor in the corner, staring at the man's body in shock. As I got closer to her she quickly looked up at me with tears in her eyes.
"H-How could you?"
"I'm sorry? How could I what?"
"You killed him"
"Ah, yes I believe what you mean to say is 'Thank you'. Don't worry though because you're welcome"
"I didn't ask for this- " the girl reached for her phone with a trembling hand
"Come on now don't be like that...I saved you from him. He was hurting you right? So therefore I fixed your problem-" I looked at the trembling girl as she pressed her phone to her ear
"Yes, hello, you have to help me! There's this woman and she just-"
I immediately grabbed the phone from the girl's ear and stepped on it.
"I'm sorry about your phone but I kind of want to keep a low profile." As soon as I said that I hear a few sirens in the distance. "Terribly sorry about your phone again but I unfortunately must go"
With that I turned around and disappeared into the night, as I ran off into the shadows the moon gave off its' luminous glow.
I thought back to that girl's reaction, why was she so scared? In fact she should have been thanking me and singing my praises. I saved her. I repeated those three words in my head wondering why the girl was so afraid of me instead. I was the hero, people aren't supposed to be afraid of the hero...right?
