ALLISA'S POV

"THERE'S a masquerade?"

Eunice's fingers observed the intricate design of the formal letter she had received. It's from her family. "Yeah, my family will be the one who will host it."

Saphire's eyes sparkled like a child. "Masquerade ball? Gusto ko maranasan 'yon!"

I'm not into that kind of things and I'm sure it's for the upper classes who will visit the city.

It's already evening and we decided to rest at the manor's lobby for a bit. Kami lang nila Amy, Saskia, Eunice, Saphire, at Keith ang nakaupo rito sa puting coach. Abala si Rhiele sa pagtingin sa mga painting na nandito sa lobby. Even before, after we saved him from that damn heretical mansion, he's always been an artistic kid. He likes painting too so I understand his fascination in their mansion. It's a noble place after all.

The paintings itself was a masterpiece of techniques and emotions, with its perfect rendered details and subtle play of light and shade. Not to mention, the wall around us where everything is displayed on was also an art itself. The designs were not overdone, and everything has its own harmony, enough to make the whole room elegant.

"Masquerade ball? Nakaranas na ako n'yan, pero na-bored ako," Amy shrugged.

Gusto ko sanang sabihin na baka wala lang siyang partner pero hindi ko na tinuloy, hindi rin naman ako si Symone para asarin siya. Speaking of Symone, wala rin siya rito. Himala, ah? Palagi pa naman 'yon nakabuntot kay Amy para lang sirain ang araw niya.

Even the other members are not here.

Celeste is not here, she said the town was too vibrant and she wants to look for the view above. Siya na nakakalipad. Linzy and Tristan was also roaming around the area. And Zach? he's still not here.

"Really? I heard you're a noble too," ani Eunice.

"Oh well, hehe... malapit na mag-extinct na noble, oo," She wore a helpless smile.

"What? What happened?" Saskia asked.

"Let's just say that a war broke to my old kingdom, pamilya ko lang ang nakapag-evacuate rito. Also, matagal na kaming walang balita sa ibang kamag anak namin."

"Did the war ended already?"

"Yep, a long time ago. Maraming casualties kaya hindi pa gano'n kaayos ang paligid doon. It's still not a safe place to be precise." She answered to her.

Ah, this is a common scenario. Noble families will be prioritized first before their people's lives. However, since she was also a victim of these hierarchical structures, I'm not holding her accountable. She's just a kid when she transferred here after all.
