➻ 5: the club @ctivity

"Please take your shoes off before entering. keep that in mind for every time you come here." joohyuk instructed as he placed his shoes in his locker and opened a vacant locker for minsoo and gave her the keys. she did as was asked of her and followed him into the room.

It was after dispersal that all the students who are in a club had to stay back for club activities that day. joohyuk guided minsoo to the school's old building where the club rooms were. the old building was right behind the new one, a little bit up on the hill. there was a small staircase that went through the thin forest to get there. despite being old, it wasn't abandoned.

it was as if minsoo's eyes were defying her. the club room was too beautiful that she couldn't help but squint her eyes at the shining beauty of the room. the green ceiling and walls blended well with the different types of creepers that took over them, and flowerpots were hanging down the ceiling beautifully. as the windows and doors were open, the leaves shone under the scattered sunlight.

as for the floor; half of the room's floor was painted in a lighter shade of blue with clouds drawn over it and the other half was painted black with stars drawn over it.

explains why I had to take my shoes off..... minsoo thought as she followed joohyuk closely. she was so excited and it could be seen on her face. some club members chuckled at her behavior while some were too busy to take account of someone even entering.

as they walked into the room the first thing she noticed was the four tables that were placed in four corners of the room and a staircase emerging from the ground in the middle of the room and disappearing into the ceiling. the table they were walking toward, looked very composed. there was a computer, a keyboard, a clock, and a few more things on the table, and a lot of flower pots were kept around the table. there was only one girl who sat there typing continuously.

reaching right in front of the table, joohyuk turned. "This is the finance and development department of the club. this is our manager. the funds that the school provides for our club are managed by her. which equipment needs to be repaired or replaced, which new seeds are to be bought or where not to give an ounce; all of it is decided here." joohyuk's smile menaced for a second as he continued. "obviously, there were more people in this department unless I kicked them out for not participating in activities."

minsoo laughed awkwardly and followed joohyuk to the other table. it was empty and a lot messier. the table had the same necessities like a computer, a notepad, a stationary box, and more.

"This is the sow and reap department. this department takes care of plants that will be further used for research." He explained.

"oh, so the girl you mentioned yesterday was from this department, huh?" she asked.

"yeah. she was a true headache if you ask me, jeez." he shook his head and walked to the night side of the floor and stooped in front of the third table. "this is the research department. the name explains what they do. for example flowers. they'll research the kind of remedy, fragrance, or decorative that flower can give."

"sounds cool," minsoo commented as she made eye contact with a few students. she smiled and surprisingly they smiled back, catching her by surprise. she thought either they'd roll their eyes or ignore her but they didn't. she felt as if the students in this room were completely different from those of this school.

"This is the conclusive department, they pile up pretty much everything like what flower the research was on, how much expense did it take, and who was involved, and after I stamp it, it's sent forward," he concluded.

"forward? to where?"

"to the dean. she cross-checks it and if it's worthy enough, it's sent to the universities. after graduating from high school, students can get recommended easily for universities or internships if they already have a recognized name you know."
