I make my way into the house and small arms are instantly wrapped around me. Carson hugs me tight before jumping around the house. I glance up at Kaden, and I find myself not being surprised that he hasn't gone to greet a spouse yet. He seems like a man who wouldn't cheat, and he's already said that we would finish what happened in the car later.

"We got a divorce a few years back. Much to my relief, I got full custody of our one-year-old at the time."

"I'm sorry."

"No, it was a good thing. We didn't love each other as much as we did while dating. I don't think she was looking for anything like a family, and that's what I wanted. We weren't on the same page."

"That's still a hard thing to go through."

"My son made it so much easier. I was doing it so he could have the unconditional love he deserves and show him that a man doesn't have to force himself to be part of a relationship he doesn't want."

"You're a good father."

"Thank you. I take great pride in being a dad. I'm sure your fathers are the same."

"They are."

Just as the two of us are taking off our shoes and jackets, a hand rests on the small of my back. Safety fills me, and I glance back to see Cooper standing behind me.

"I missed you."

"You're an idiot."

He chuckles, latching a hand onto my thigh.

"Christian told me how horny you were. Did he get to touch your pretty, wet, delicious pussy?"

I shudder under his touch, turned on by his words. I gulp and try not to cry at the throbbing sensation. Lincoln comes bursting around the corner and sees me struggling.

"What the fuck did you do to her?"

"I didn't do anything."

"What's wrong, baby? Tell me."

"It hurts. It hurts so bad."

"What does?"

I let my fingers press against the crotch of my pants as my head tilts back to land on Cooper's shoulder. I hear curses echo through the entryway, and I close my eyes. I take deep breaths, calming myself, and it takes a few seconds, but I feel better.

I step away from the overloading group of men and make my way through the house in the direction of Carson's laughter. Christian and Carson sit at the dining room table as George whips a quarter out from the back of his ear.

I smile at the two of them but move on to help and greet Bertha in the kitchen.

"I'm so glad you made it. Sarah, right?"

"Yes, and Bertha?"

"You got it, darling. I'm almost done here, but do you think I could have some help?"

"Of course, tell me what to do."

For the next few minutes, I let her boss me around and tell me what to put where. Once we are all sitting down, the dinner goes off without a hitch. The conversation never ends, Carson telling terrible jokes for us to laugh at for most of the night, and after we are done at the table, we all gather around the fire with cups of coffee (hot chocolate for me).

Carson has fallen asleep in my arms, and Kaden quickly gathers him, asking his parents if it's okay if he stays the night. They say yes, and he carries his sleeping son up the stairs. Bertha and George soon go upstairs for their own sleep, leaving the four men and me at the fireplace. I don't meet any eyes as we all sit there in awkward silence.

"I'm sorry that I..."

"It's okay, Cooper. I wasn't expecting to be that needy. I've been searching to find my own group for such a long time, I got overwhelmed at the prospect."

"How long?"

"Four years. Since I was sixteen. It seems young, but I wanted to marry and settle down. It never worked out, obviously, which is why I'm here. Hoping to find a home of my own."

I feel the tears drip out of my eyes and hit my cold cheeks, but I quickly brush them away in hopes that none of them are seen. Someone takes my hips and lifts me into their arms before sitting back down on the couch. By the scent, I realize that Lincoln has done so, his arms wrapping around me and one hand making comforting circles on my back.

I sob quietly into his shoulder, my body so exhausted. He hushes me, silently asking if I have anywhere to stay for the night. I shake my head no, and I know that I'm probably going to end up going to their home. My eyes flutter closed as my tears cease to exist, and a jacket is draped around my shoulders.

I haven't fallen asleep yet, but resting my eyes makes me feel more tired. I feel someone digging my pocket, and my keys are pulled out. A kiss lingers on the top of my head and that's all it takes for me to fall into a deep slumber.
