Hyejin POV
Opening my eyes, I come face to face with a lavish looking ceiling, I knew I was in the prince's room, but I didn't have the strength to even sit up, my whole body ached.
"She's still recovering, it'll take a while for the serum to wear off." I heard an unfamiliar gruff voice say.
Breathing hardly, I turn my head to the side and tried to keep my eyes open, there was so much I wanted to ask and tell, but I couldn't form words, seconds later I fall into slumber.
The next time I woke up, I tried sitting, Sungchan held my back and pulled me up, "my head hurts." I whine.
"It'll be better soon, don't worry." He assures me, caressing my hair.
"You should've put me in a small room instead of yours, the king must definitely hate it."
"Your right I do." I flinch at the sudden voice of the king, completely unaware that he was present in the room. "But my stubborn brother wouldn't let the guards lay a finger on you."
"ATEEZ?" I question without pressing it.
"We've captured them, there waiting for their execution." Sungchan replies.
"Yea ofcourse." Then I turn to the king, "I completed my mission, so you have no purpose of me now, will i be free."
"Yes you will be, and as promised you will be compensated, name your price." The king replies.
Before I could speak, the door snapped open, it was a guard "Your highness, there are two men at the gates begging to let them in, they're looking for the girl." He explains breathless.
The king looks at me with an eyebrow raised, "I don't know anyone here who would do such a thing." I explain.
"Bring them to the throne room," the king orders leaving the room.
An awkward silence settles in, "I should be able to leave soon." I simply tell looking everywhere but his face.
"Yea." He mumbles.
"I'm glad your safe." I add.
"It didn't help when I knew you weren't. I was so worried." He says caressing my cheek.
Making a tch sound I turn my head away from him, pushing his hand aside.
Without warning, the king barges into the room. He guards following behind him held two prisoners down.
At first I thought it was two of ATEEZ, but when they raised their head, my eyes widened.
"Seeing your reaction, you do these guys."
"Well y-yea I do know them." I get up from the bed and try to wall, but stumble and land on my knees, Sungchan holds my waist and supports me to move forward and I sit in front of the two.
"What are you doing here?" I ask a simple yet intimidating question.
"I just wanted to see if you were fine." Hyunjin replies.
Rolling my eyes at his answer, "You wanted to see if i was fine. Listen just because you helped me once doesn't mean I forgive you. You should've stayed wherever you were, now face the consequences."
"The thing is, you are needed. We are heading back home to Cleivos. And you have to come with us." Felix tells this time.
"I won't. I'm done with that life, I'm not going back ever again." I stay poised.
"So being here is not that life." Hyunjin sarcastically states.
"I've done my work, I'm leaving." I reply.
"Right. Well, do your thing, we both are going back to Cleivos and my mates are joining us too to help me get back what I lost, if you don't want to come that's ok. I just want to say, there's always a place for you there." Hyunjin tells.
"Yea sure whatever." I shrug his words off like they meant nothing, only they did mean something, but I wasn't going to show it.
Turning to the king, "Your highness, let them go, they mean no harm."
"Clearly, well guards, send them off their way." He orders and leaves behind the retreating invaders.
