Screams pierce the stale October night. My lungs set upon fire as I flee through the night away from the cry of help. Realizing the scream is following me drowning out the pounding of my footsteps, I listen and come to the realization there is no footsteps. There is no escaping the fire in my lungs or the ear-splitting screams because they were coming from me. My mind not letting me leave the nightmare Im trapped inside of, constantly reliving the memory.

Mera! Mera please wake up.

Its been five-years Moss, she isnt going to wake up. We have been through this before, just because she screams does not mean that she will wake up and come back to us. Even on the off chance she does come back she will never be our Mera, not like before.

Dont say that Shawn, she will forever be our Mera regardless of the situation.

Shawn? Moss? Who are you and why are your voices of despair penetrating my ever-lasting memory? Why is it that the fire from my lungs seem to spread when you speak? More importantly who is this Mera you call out for?

Okay, Im sorry Moss. Silence fills the room for a split moment before Shawns broken voice fills the room. its just that if been five years of not knowing when or if she will come back to us. And I miss her so damn much. Nothing is the same without her laugher brightening up the room or her contagious smile. All she has been reduced to is this pale fragile lifeless girl who was, no she is so much more than this. thats why tonight is the last goodbye, we cannot keep her in this state for our sickening self-pervasion. She would want to be remembered for anything, literally anything but what we see her as now.

Slowly the memory starts to fade into darkness, a constant beeping reaches me ear fighting against a ringing. The floating feeling subsides to sharp tingle that slowly spreads from its unknown source of origin. The over whelming smells of cleanliness and the bitter steal air reach, the sense of death and fear hangs in the air. Never ending beeping and screams fill my ears, the taste of stale blood ends up slipping into my mouth. Fighting a battle with my weighted eyelids, the bright lights go in and out mixing with darkness.

Wait, whats wrong with her heartbeat? Its not supposed to be that fast is it? I think Shawn spoke with panic. The sounds and smells rush to mix, the serenity broken. DOCTOR MIA, ANYONE COME QUICK! PLEASE HELP HER! The cracking of his voice cuts through the hustle and bustle of the busy world outside the door.

The sound of pounding footsteps breaks the sounds. Followed by incoherent shouts, and rolling wheels thumping against the cracked titles. The creaking of other doors on the halls, cries of families, the hum of the heaters fall into the chaos.

Whats goin on? A labored female voice squeaked. Are you hurt? Do you-

Her heartbeat is going crazy, her skin is cold covered in sweat, is she okay? Why is she sweating so much? Moss shouts out, cutting off the lady.

Feeling hands graze over my body, chills and goosebumps rise as I feel steady breath creases my skin. The soft fibers of the rag dragged across the skin soaking up the moister, pressure is applied to my pointer finger. The sharp coldness of metal is placed on my inner arm following a sharp prick.

One, t...two, three. One, tw...two, three Faintly fills the room in a voice so faint the hum of the captured heartbeat almost covers it. As the voice continues a slow steady count the world around quiets til its all that is heard. The small crackly voice stubbles over two every time, it only stops when it exhales puffs of air in-between new counts. A cold sweat starts to layer the skin of everyone in the room as its so silent no breathing can be heard.
