Chapter 1 ; Going to the Bahamas

Introduction

Hello, my name is Natasha Frank. This week me and my dad are going to the Bahamas with his friend and his friends son named Leo. We are going to go high cliff diving.

As we are getting to the hotel I realized that I forgot my goggles at home. I told my dad and he said we'll get a new pair. When we got to our hotel there was a sign that said "Beware of sharks" but I didn't really care.

When we got to our hotel room I could hear cars on the road which was really annoying but it was a nice hotel room, it had white chairs and two queen beds with a 75 inch TV. Next thing we did was unpack our stuff, then I realized there was only two queen beds so I pointed out that I didn't want to sleep with anyone.

My dad told me I could either sleep with him or on the couch, I told him I'll sleep on the couch. At 9:17pm I changed into pajamas that were a light purple and had eggs on them. Then I finally decided I was gonna go to bed.

Like always I was the first to wake up, I decided to wake everyone else up by turning on the news. After that I took a shower and my dad said that we're going down to the beach. I was excited to go down there so I changed into my swimsuit as fast as I could.

As soon as I got done changing, I ran to the lobby as I waited for Leo. I went on my phone to check what time it was, 9:43am. As I was on my phone I decided to scroll through YouTube and saw this random hate video on this NBA star James Harden, I ignored it.

I started to get inpatient and called Leo.
"Hello?" I said impatiently. "Hi I'm almost done be down in 5." "Ok." I said relieved. When we got down to the beach we found out that we could go swimming with Stingrays. As I put my waterproof headphones on I decided to mark an X in the sand, it reminds me of my mom because before she jumped off the cliff to go diving she marked an X in the sand, she came in first place that day.

I miss my mom a lot but I've gotten used to it, over the years. I'm very excited to see some stingrays because they're my favorite animal. Before we could go in the water this guy strapped us to a pole and gave us some scuba gear to put on, my scuba gear had purple butterflies and pink flowers on them it was kind of cute.

"Are you ready?" I asked Leo. "Ready Freddy!" He said happily. As much as I hated when he said "ready Freddy" I just smiled. The instructor told us to hold our breath when we go down for 5 seconds and then we could breathe through our air tanks.

When we were at the bottom of the ocean floor we could see so many stingrays some were small and some were large, some had one long stripe on their back and some had ten stripes on their back.

I could see this gray little blob off in the distance and I wanted to go see it. "Leo what's that over there?" I asked confusingly. "I don't know but let's stay away from there.." He said nervously. "Alright then.." I said wanting to go see what the blob was.

At 12:45pm me and Leo came back up to the surface because our air tanks were almost empty. "That was fun!" I said happily. "Yeah very." Said Leo I little worried. I didn't know why he was worried but I didn't want to ask just in case it was personal.

When we got back into our hotel room I could see suitcases were opened and nobody was there, I was confused so I went downstairs and asked if anything happened at the front desk and they said that my dad and his friend left the hotel. "Ok." I said nervously.

I stayed up in the hotel room for hours waiting for my dad and is friend. "Maybe we could check Life360." I suggested to Leo. "Ok." He said. When we checked it said they were in a grocery store near the beach. I was upset that they didn't tell us but glad that they were okay.

When I was getting ready for bed I heard the door creak open "Dad?" I asked. "Yes?" He said panting with groceries in his hand. "Nothing just making sure it's you." I said thankfully. "Dad!" Leo said glad that they were okay. "Hey son!" "Sorry we were gone so long." They both said. "It's okay! Just as long as your safe." I said.

When I went to bed i looked out the window and started crying, I don't know why but to get whatever made me sad off my mind I watched YouTube until 2:27am. Then when I fell asleep I had this weird dream about my mom, I felt like..she was with me.
