The Boy

A little boy asked

Where could his father be

But his father did a crime

And got caught by the police

-

The little boy wanted

What the other children had

They would talk about their parents'

While the boy wished for his dad

-

He would wish upon a star

So his father could be free

The boy needed to know

How a man is supposed to be

-

The boy became a man

And he visited his dad

When the visit had to end

It was something more than sad

-

So he left the jail

Rewinding the apologies

His whole life was advice

To show how a man is supposed to be
