Mistakes

Right now I am sitting in a cop car with my best friend. I am the straight A student, NOT at all a trouble maker, shy girl. So yes, I am in a cop car.

 4 HOURS EARLIER

I got a call from my best friend, Emily White, who I haven't talked to in 2 years. She moved away to Kansas, and left me in North Carolina.

"Helloo?" I said very confused.

"Listen, I am back in town for 2 reasons."

"What are they? I haven't talked to you in forever, so this should be good..."

"Well, 1. I came to see you and 2. I came to vandalize Jason Sum's house. I need your help."

"Hell no. That can ruin everything I ever worked for." I said very confused, once again.

"I will be at your house in 10 minutes. You still live where you used to?"

"Yes."

"Byeee."

I hung up. I was so confused. Why does she want to do something to Jason? What he did was 2 years ago. So what happened was, Emily and Jason were going out for a 3 years, and she found out he was cheating on her for 2 years. Emily was devastated. After that, she never really talked to people except for me. Then she moved and the first time I talked to her sense she moved was 2 minutes ago.

She left my house. It was around 9:00pm. I knew what she wanted me to do and I had to help. He vandalized her house in Kansas, and he has been texting her non-stop sense she moved. Every time she blocked his number he got a new one. This is crazy to say, but I am willing to risk it. I may or may not be caught but, I want to help my best friend. I had to be ready by 11:15.

We arrived at his house. It was 11:30pm. We were dressed in black, honestly I could barely see Emily. I missed her so much, but I didn't expect that we would be doing this when I, or if I, ever saw her again. Emily pulled out spray paint, and 2 HUGE bags of confetti. She went to work. I was only look out because I didn't want to get really involved. She spray painted, " Suck it Jason.", on the front door. It was a pretty bright green, with sparkles. Then on the driveway she put, "Miss me now babe?" Then she opened the bags of confetti and threw it all over the lawn and the driveway. I started hearing talking inside the house. I sneakily ran up to Emily, to tell her I heard noise, when I heard cars coming down his street. We ducked behind a bush, when I heard someone yell,

"FREEZE, PUT YOUR HANDS UP!"

Emily was reaching in her bag franticly. I was frozen solid. We got caught, and I had risked everything that was going for me, just for Emily.

Emily stood up, but to my suprise she pulled out a gun. She was pointing it at one of the 5 cops. Everything was dead silent, until she pulled the trigger and got the cop right in the left leg. One cop dragged me out of the bushes, after they tackled Emily. I was in shock, that wasn't the Emily I knew. Jason walked outside with his family to see what was going on. He walked up to me.

"What the hell is wrong with her?" he said with a confused look.

"You." I said with a sassy attitude.

Then they placed us in the cop car.

PRESENT TIME

The ride was bumpy, and I felt sick. What happened when my parents found out? They couldn't bail me out because they didn't have enough money, and Emily's parents are in Kansas. We still have to go to court, and I am getting to ahead of myself. All I knew was, I made a huge mistake.
