The boys plopped down together on the ground in sheer exhaustion. Y/n was merciless, she made them go through intense training for two whole hours but she still didn't find them prepared enough for their mission.

Somehow, they endured it all and finally caught the chance to take a break. Taehyung rested his head on Jin's lap and sighed, tired. Jungkook felt tired too, but he knew this wasn't enough. They had to train harder.

"Jungkook," Y/n called out, her face blank except for a small smirk that lingered on her lips. Jungkook knew that smirk meant nothing good and he felt scared suddenly.

"Your arm strength is not up to the mark, one hundred push-ups for you." She said and he groaned.

"What did you do to piss her off?" Hoseok nudged his side but the younger boy shook his head, knowing all too well why Y/n was making him go through this. This was his punishment for making her feel flustered the night before.

"The rest of you," She continued, glancing at Jungkook for a short moment , "can go in and have lunch."

"We're going to have food!" Jimin cheered and dashed towards the house with the others trailing behind him.

"I'll save something for you, Jungkook." Jin said, giving him a sympathetic smile before going in himself.

Jungkook sighed, it looked like there was no out of this punishment. He stood up and stretched his aching muscles before going down to the correct position for the exercise. Every count made him feel like collapsing but he knew he'd have to restart the entire thing again with Y/n watching his every move.

Y/n, however, was not concentrating on the counts. Her eyes were fixed on Jungkook's back, she felt her heart thump loudly upon seeing his back muscles contracting and relaxing. Coming back to her senses, she shook her head.

"You know what," She said, "let's have a match instead." She did not want to dwell on her feelings and he was a big distraction for her.

Jungkook stopped and stood up, his arms already aching from the twenty something push-ups he'd done. A match with her was welcomed by him like a gentle breeze.

"Sure," He shrugged and handed her a sword from the rack while taking one for himself. He attacked first, Y/n responding to it with her defence. They fought wordlessly, the only sounds were the swords clinking and their heavy breaths. Both of them were competitive, they did not want to back down so easily. Y/n noticed that Jungkook's defences were more polished than they were before, she smiled inwardly knowing that he had really worked hard. If there was something she admired about him, it was his fierce determination and she saw her own reflection somewhere in the boy's eyes. It seemed to her that he was fighting a battle she had no idea about and she knew how that felt. Knowing that you have to face your demons alone. That thought, no matter how strong she tries to be, always seemed to scare her.

She did not know what distracted her but she suddenly found her sword limp by her side and Jungkook's sword near her neck. She felt overwhelmed suddenly as she looked into his eyes that lit up with a certain truthfulness. She knew his feelings and she knew hers. She wanted to deny them but she couldn't when they were clear as day. It was then she snapped out of the trance, the fire sixteen years ago flashing before her eyes and she was overcome with a wave of rage. Seth's face appeared in front of her and she let her anger take over her movements and attacked. She heard a sword clang and a hiss of pain followed when she realised what she had done.

Blood was oozing out of a large gash on Jungkook's chest. His face contorted from the pain but he still tried to keep it straight. Y/n's hand flew to her mouth, she couldn't comprehend what just happened.
