"So that's the Star Plasma Vessel, huh..."

My arms stay crossed over my chest as I comment, while Satoru keeps his hands shoved in his pockets. Both of us are leaning casually against a metal fence while Suguru talks with the Star Plasma Vessel- whose name is Riko- and who I assumed was her caretaker, an older woman in a maid dress that lays on top of Suguru's cursed spirit.

With the sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach I realize that the girl could not be more than fourteen years old, not much younger than us.

"Yup," Satoru replies with the voice that could easily conceal whatever he had going on in his mind, handing me a sip of his uncomfortably sweet soda. "Spunkier than we thought, don'tcha think? The way she talks she's never gonna have friends."

"And you're the one to talk," I say without missing a beat, and Satoru whips his head in my direction. I did not need to look at him to know that he's making a face. "She's..." my voice trails off as I'm fishing for the more flattering words, still eyeing the girl in the distance. "Different from what I expected."

I didn't think we were here to erase a child.

"You got that right," Satoru grumbles, fixing the position of his round shades that fell down at the bridge of his long nose. "Still, I think Yaga is being all soft on her."

"Don't be like that, Satoru." My voice is firm as I glare him, before it somehow soften upon meeting his gaze. I take one steady breath before I continue. "She was saying confidently all that stuff about merger but..." My eyes shift towards the radiant girl grinning cheekily as she talks with Suguru, and the sight made my heart hurt all the more for it. "The truth is she will soon become Master Tengen and stay bellow Jujutsu High forming the barrier. Friends, family, everyone she ever held dear... she will not be able to see them anymore." I say, smiling sadly as I close my eyes. "So let's just let her enjoy herself. That is also the part of our mission."

"Oi! You two!" a high-pitched voice interrupts, and we both whip our heads in it's direction only to see Riko, all high and mighty, pointing a finger at us.

I blink, dumbfounded, as my mouth open up to speak but Riko is faster.

"Why are you always separating from the rest of us and talking all secretively, huh!?" She asks. "Are you two dating or something?!"

A twitch of an eyebrow. Satoru lets out a loud "HUH?!" and I facepalm myself, trying to hide my face.

Suguru lets out an amused chuckle. "Sometimes I wonder that too."

"Not you too!" Satoru bemoans as Kuroi, Riko's caretaker, tries to step in as a mediator.

"Riko...That's not very nice. They are friends, of course they talk-" Riko shakes her head disapprovingly.

"Definitely dating."

"Why, are you jealous maybe?" Satoru asks mockingly with a forced smile, but his face was screaming that he was an inch from throting her.

"Hmph! A simple comment from a simpleton!" Riko frowns, crossing her hands over her chest, face soon beaming with a mischievous grin - a grin too reminiscent of a certain white haired boy in all of his annoying glory - as she runs and stands next to me protectively, obviously deeming me worthy of her presence. "I was joking. Don't think she would ever date you... clown."

Everyone gasps in unision. I cover my mouth with my hand, trying to supress a laugh.

It didn't last long before all of us bursted into laughter while Satoru stood there with his jaw dropped.

"Very, very funny..." he grumbles as he cracks his knuckles, making Riko turn around on her heels and run for dear life.

"Now come here you little-!"
