Crucify, cru-crucify me
Crucify, cru-cru
I can't recall the last time I took advice from anyone
Shaped like a figure eight who trusts pretty girls anyway?
And I can't recall the last time I took advice from anyone
I'm sure I'll be the death of me
And I can't recall the last time I took love from anyone
I called daddy, who's got one anyway?
Not me

Omniscient

February 5th

It's 12:30 PM, and I'm exhausted after retrieving my car from Raegan's apartment complex.

Sam is still asleep in the hospital bed, recovering from pain medication. The doctor kept him overnight for additional X-rays.

While the family discussed Sam's leg with the doctor, Johnny offered to take Valerie home. Sam insisted, but she chose to stay.

Ms. Kathy, seemingly upset from a prior argument, has been ignoring Valerie.

After discussing work commitments they have in the morning, both Johnny and Ms. Kathy left the hospital and it was now just Valerie and Sam.

Sam's family was becoming increasingly difficult, she didn't know where to turn.

While grateful for their support, Valerie struggles with their lack of boundaries in her relationship with Sam.

His mother's intrusive nature, his brother's insensitive comments, and Sam's obliviousness created an overwhelming "family" dynamic for Valerie.

It was just too much.

As Valerie rests on the small leather couch across from Sam's bed, she reflects on the exhausting argument with his mother, feeling drained and frustrated.

Johnny sped down the street, blasting his favorite rock band.

Valerie rolled her eyes, her worry for Sam growing with each passing moment.

"Can you please turn that down?" she pleaded.

"Hey, this is my car," Johnny retorted, his voice rising.

"I know, but I'm still a little buzzed from the club," Valerie explained, wincing at the loud music.

"Well, maybe you shouldn't have had so many shots," Johnny replied, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

"I was having fun with my best friend," Valerie snapped, "Why wouldn't I?"

"Of course, because you're a drunk," Johnny mocked.

"Just shut up and drive, Johnny," Valerie sighed, her patience wearing thin.
