"You promise we'll see each other again?" the 13 year old taehyung asked.
"Of course, I'll never forget you," 14 year old Jimin wrapped his arms around his best friend.
"But what if you do?" taehyung looked at Jimin with his big eyes.
"I won't, you have my number, we'll always keep in contact, plus you're my best friend." There it was. A constant reminder that Jimin would never accept taehyungs feelings towards him.
"okay," taehyung stepped back from Jimin with a small smile when he heard the parks call Jimin.
"Bye taehyung," Jimin walked away to his parents leaving taehyung alone.
"Bye Jimin, I love you" taehyung said even though he knew Jimin was not there.
The next day, taehyungs phone rang and he quickly picked it up squealing when he checked the caller ID. "JIMINIE!" Taehyung screamed through the phone.
"Shhh taehyung!" Jimin smiled back.
taehyungs noticed Jimin had his earphones in and the setting he was in was moving.
"Hey where are you?" Taehyung asked with his eyes squinted.
"In a car, we're headed to our house," Jimin replied in a hushed voice after being told to be quiet by his mother. "Hey taehyung I gotta go, I'll talk to you later," Jimin waved earning a wave and a bye back from taehyung.
Taehyung hung up the phone and put it on charge then going downstairs.
It had been a week and taehyung received no texts no calls or anything from Jimin. Could the boy have already forgotten him? or was taehyungs just being silly and Jimin was just busy with his new school and unpacking? Taehyung didn't know but he hoped it was the second one.
taking matter into his own hands taehyung video called Jimin hoping he'd pick up. And after a few rings it did. Jimin was outside on what seemed like grass so taehyung concluded he was at a park.
"Taehyung!" Jimins voice was bright, it was like he didn't care about the distance between the two. "I haven't spoken to you in ages," he beamed
"I could say the same back," taehyungs smiled " where are you?" Taehyung raised an eyebrow.
"Oh I'm at a park with some friends," Jimin said.
"who's that? You're boyfriend?" a voice of one of Jimins new friends teased.
"Shut up," Jimin giggled with a small blush. He looked back at his phone and started talking to taehyung. "Taehyung-ah it's so pretty here, I promise that when you come to visit I'll take you everywhere."
Taehyung blushed at this and looked down. "I'm gonna go Jimin my mums calling me," taehyung waved at Jimin.
"Oh okay, bye tae!" Jimin smiled sweetly before hanging up.
Truthfully, Jimin missed taehyung. There was a pain in his chest and all he wanted was taehyung there with him. All he could think about was taehyung. And he hated it.
