"and I was running far away, would I run off the world some day?"the battle had ruined your mindset on a lot of things, for instance, safety —, you never felt safe in this lifetime anymore, and you knew that Voldemort was no longer around, but the darkness and evil that still conquered was around, your heart ached for the family and friends you've lost along the way.
after losing the one you've ever loved inside of the battle, you've been hiding from love, afraid of the true identity of love, pain. hurt, anger, love isn't always flowers and cotton candy, love isn't always meaningful romance, love comes in many different shapes and forms. your love left you in agonizing pain, and torture.
Fred Weasley — fought for his family, fought for his home, fought for his life. but sometimes life isn't what you make it out to be, you lost Fred in the battle of Hogwarts, may 2nd, 1998, was the worse moment of your life, losing plenty of friends, but the world was freed from the most high evil, but life was not the same.
you still kept in contact with George Weasley throughout the years, but you never wanted to face him in person, nonetheless he shared a face with the man you lost, you kept contact with all of your friends, but Harry Potter was the only one who would come and check on you from time to time, Harry became a worker at the ministry of magic, he became the head of magical law enforcement, Ron became an auror, Hermione also worked there, and they desperately tried for you to get to work with them, but you never took their offer.
you wanted to be somewhere away from magic for awhile, settling down away from Scotland, you managed to work at a small town pub, serving a bunch of old folks plenty of alcohol, you were at one of your shifts, "young lady! can we get a pint of beer over here?" An old British man called out to you, you made your war to the bar, filling up a pitcher with pale ale, careful not to overflow the top, and made your way to the table with the eager men anxious to drink their heads away. "Thank you beautiful woman." A cheerful man spoke up, you shot him a smile. "My pleasure." you walked away from their table, the smile leaving your face.
you wiped the tables that people had made a bunch of mess on, the day wasn't quite thrilling
It never was, the morning time drinkers always got a head of themselves, and drinking away way too quickly, leaving them stammered. your shift was 12pm to 1am, the pay was very good, you couldn't complain, "good afternoon, darling." Astoria greengrass smiled at you, "hello there, I've been waiting for you." you sent her a smile back, as she placed on her apron. Astoria was a worker at the same place with you, you and Astoria was very close.Astoria was married, and had a son. quite cute really, scorpius. she was married to draco malfoy, the guy you've never really got along with in Hogwarts, always bickering and teasing you didn't despise the guy, but he wasn't your cup of tea. Astoria clocked into her register, "shall the day begin?" She raised her eyebrow, "it shall." You poured two glasses of vodka into two shot glasses, pulling out two lemons for the both of you, handing her over one.
it was traditional your manager said, when someone clocks into their job you must drink with them to celebrate their day of hard work. you lifted up your shot glass, the both of you clinked your glasses together. "Cheers!" You said on cue and downed the glass of vodka. you were used to the taste, and had no reaction. biting into the lemon, astoria's face crinkled.
"Merlin, I don't know how you can do that." She laughed, as she walked away, going to a table with new customers that just walked in. you sat at the bar, bored quite actually. Monday's afternoons were never busy, until the time struck 8pm, and all the folks in town would come to this famous bar, and then you were in rush hour. the rest of the day was normal, quiet besides the folks speaking about all types of sports, and cheering on their teams on the Telly.
