{Those are the gorgeous high-heels Laura is wearing}

Laura was never one to be fancy. She always enjoyed wearing slippers but was quite fond of the idea of having a pair of high-heels. This was all revealed when Ray {her mom} had bought her her first pair of high-heels that was 3-inches high and a bit hard to walk in.

Laura stumbled a bit but got used to it and was sure that it would be okay to get an extra headstart feel before prom. Her mom warned her but of course, why would Laura listen?

...She cursed under her breath as she looked at the broken heel sitting on the staircase that she had tripped down due to the heel breaking. She grabbed them making a dash up the stairs into her bedroom before her mom could see them.

Laura had been examining the shoe before a knock was heard on her door.
"Honey? Everything ok?? Were the shoes a good fit? Did you like them? I had them especialy made in your favorite color to suit your dress!"
Cold beads of sweat rolled down Laura's forehead. "Yeah, mom! I love them!" "So come out and show me! Come walk down this hallway!" "Mom, it's fine! I'm trying to figure out what I should do for my makeup!"

"Nonsense, you could do that later! I'll help you!" "Oh, no, mom! I just realized my makeup has run low! I have no eyeshadow, foundation, mascara, or blush!" "*gasp* why didn't you tell me before?! I'll head to the store real quick and get you some beauty supplies!" "Oh! And I also need brow pencils and eyeliner!" "Sure thing!!!"

Laura waited till her moms footsteps were no longer in range of hearing before dashing out her room and searching the entire house for the gorila glue. 'Oh my gosh! What am I gonna do?!??' She asked herself throwing a bottle of handsoap to the side desperately looking for the glue. She groaned. Of course she knew she had all day since her mom had loved shopping for beauty products and can spend all day looking around Sephora.

She moved on to the next room, and the next room, and the next... same result; no glue... no heels. Prom was in 1 day, she didn't have time for this! She flinched as she heard the door handle turn and unlock. She gulped getting ready to dip. She ran towards the stairs tripping over air again and again.

She finally made it upstairs before the door fully opened. She breathed heavily looking at the broken heels. "Laura! I've got the makeup!" "Thanks!" She threw the shoes in her closet.

It was prom night and Ray left the room after helping Laura with her makeup.
Laura was sweating drastically wondering what she was going to wear for the prom in an hour. She was panicking, her eyes scanning the room before in a quick glance she could spot a pair of light blue flip-flops. She smirked picking up the pair and putting them on underneath her dress.

'Perfect' she thought as the dress was long enough to cover them. She looked in the mirror and admired her outfit still thinking of how a shame it was she couldn't wear the heels instead. She sighed going downstairs to show her mom and start waiting for her friends to pick her up.

Her mom looked at her in approval before the door bell rang and she pushed her out with her friends. Laura took a deep breath, thankful her mom didn't notice.

They arrived and Laura was standing alone looking at people dance while her friends went to get drinks. She jumped a bit when a hand took hers and kissed it gracefully. "May I have this dance?" She blushed nodding almost instantly and they took off in the middle of the dance floor. Everyone had cleared the way for them, stopping their own dancing to watch. A soft tune was played in the background but...everyone was hearing some sort of noise... "flip-flop flip-flop flip-flop"

Laura glowed bright red hearing all the quiet chatter before getting distracted and missing her footing causing the guy to step on her dress and trip, riping it to expose her flip-flops but also giving Laura the chance to run out of embarrasment. She ran up the stairs centered in front of the room which led to the exit before slipping on the flip-flop resulting in her falling backwards, down the stairs and landing on the guy serving punch... and it spilled all over her...

if only she had taken her moms advice...
