Jessie woke up to seeing herself wrapped up in blankets and on a hospital bed. She grumbled a little as she shifted herself to see Lucia asleep next to her. Jessie smiled as she wrapped an arm around her 4 year old daughter and hugged her

"Morning momma" Lucia yawned

"Sorry Lucia, I didn't mean to wake you up" Jessie apologised with a tiny laugh as she pulled up the blanket

"It is okay, are you okay?"

"I'm fine, you don't need to worry" Jessie smiled a little

"How is baby brother or sister?"

"They are good, I kept them safe"

"Can I pick a name if it is a girl?"

"I'll think about it" Jessie laughed, waking up Rhodey and George on accident

"You're awake" Rhodey yawned

"Yeah, where is Sam? I owe him a thank you" Jessie explained

"He said he will come by when you are home" Rhodey answered. Jessie nodded as she waved a little to George who got up and came and hugged her tightly

"I'm sorry, I am so sorry" Jessie apologised to him as she hugged him back

"Its okay" George said as he let go slightly

"So, when did you find out?" Rhodey asked his wife

"The wedding day... I was with Pepper and wanted certain foods and she picked up on the familiar sense to when I wanted them while I was pregnant with Lucia and George... difference is, this one came a lot quicker than those two" Jessie answered as a soft knock came from the door. George sat on Jessie's bed with Lucia while Rhodey got up and answered it

"I brought breakfast" Captain Dominique said from the doorway

"Alright" Rhodey laughed and let her in

"Thank you Captain Dominique" Jessie said as she placed the tray on the bed infront of Jessie

"Please, just call me Nika... it is a nickname my friends gave me" She smiled
"Also, they said you can have a fair while of not using your powers. The boss felt bad about, well everything for pushing you to use it"

"Are the people okay?" Jessie asked her

"Yeah, walking around healthier than ever in some cases"

"Then it doesn't matter, these powers are designed to help people, save people" Jessie explained

"Well, you are taking some time off. They just want you to be visible for public events mostly"

"So I am just a damn mascot?"

"Not my choice"

"I get how steve felt now" Jessie shook her head slightly

"It isn't for propaganda" Rhodey added in

"I know it isn't but it is basically so they can show off as many Avengers they have in their grasp still considering we lost 3 and one is flying around in a spaceship with the galaxy bunch" Jessie explained

"It doesn't matter, I promise that we can get you doing whatever you wish to as soon as you are in shape or give birth" Nika smiled

"My powers have been trained to keep my baby safe at all costs until it comes... can we just agree the pregnancy stays in a small enough circle until it is impossible?" Jessie asked as she removed the wires from her chest, causing the heart monitor to let off a flat line sound. She grumbled as she held her hand at the machine and it turned off

"How did you do that?" Nika asked

"Party tricks" Jessie smirked

"We will keep it between us in here, Sam and some leaders" Rhodey added in

"Good" Jessie nodded

☆A few days later☆

A soft knock came form their home doorway. Jessie gets up to see Sam stood there

"Sam! It has been a week" Jessie laughed as she was about to let him in

"Can we go for a walk?" Sam asked, Jessie looked concerned and nodded

"Sure, the kids are with Rhodey so I have all the time until they come back at 6" Jessie said as she walked to the kitchen and grabbed her keys and jacket as well as her phone
"Major, come" Jessie instructed and her dog followed her outside before she started this walk with Sam

"I considered handing the shield to the government... putting it into the Smithsonian with everything else" Sam explained

"It is your choice Sam, I can't force you to keep it" Jessie said as they walked down a few streets with Major

"No disapproving argument?" Sam raised an eyebrow

"I was there through most of the time Steve was getting this, I know its legacy just as much as he told you" Jessie answered

"The world just isn't ready for a new Captain America" Sam said

"They are, you are scared it isn't ready for you" Jessie corrected him

"You sure you don't have any weird new powers?" Sam asked her

"No, I can read it from your annoyed face" Jessie giggled

"You really think I should hand it over?" Sam asked her

"I don't, no. If you want to then you should... it is your choice" Jessie smiled a little

"How's everything with you anyway?"

"Tired and pregnant but I owe you a thanks for what happened at the base a few days ago" Jessie said

"Have you told Bucky you're pregnant?"

"No. He suddenly stopped talking to me... I don't want to talk about it, I get hormon emotional" Jessie said before Sam could continue

"Why don't you come spend a day with my family, they can cheer you up. You and my sister are alike, Sarah likes to put me in my place and she has only met you once" Sam suggested

"Sounds tempting but I have to refuse... if you need help on missions please let me come, I have until 5 months then I am off all missions and stuck on desk duty" Jessie explained

"I'll consider it for minor ones... last thing I want is your cyborg brother chasing after me if something happens to you" Sam said

"Don't forget my husband and future seeing daughter and my very persuasive son" Jessie laughed

"I get the point" Sam chuckled

"I figured out that these powers have a technique, I can divert a constant burst to the tiny tiny fetus and it will constantly be protects through whatever state I am in because I can control life and death" Jessie explained

"So if you die, the baby doesn't?"

"That's the idea. I just hope it doesn't come to that... I just want my normal life and work life" Jessie said

"I get that" Sam nodded
