The God of thunder was bored again. He missed the exitement of battle and the wild feasts following his victories. His father had told him to stop fighting the neighboring worlds. He had finally achieved peace and the Allfather was determined to keep it. With a sigh he got up and decided to go bug Heimdall. He picked up his hammer and a fresh bunch of grapes and meandered over the bridge to his favorite place on Asgard. Heimdall squinted his eyes as he saw the young god approaching, being fully aware that he was probably up to no good. As Thor offered him the small peace offering of fresh fruit, he told him of this place on Midgard where he might go if he was looking for some fun. The god of thunder peaked his head with renewed interest. Heimdall told him about the inhabitants of Norgesveldet, or the kingdom of Norway, and their love for fighting and feasting. After some brilliant anekdotes, Heimdall explained that he would be willing to transport the young prince there on the condition that he blend in with the humans and bring his mischievious brother. Because, as Heimdall stated it, Loki had been sulking in his room for far too long, and he was fearfull of anther joke at his expense. Thor agreed and flew back to the palace to grab his weapons and his brother, so they could be on their merry way.

Loki had been sulking in his room. He also missed the battles in other worlds, if only so he could find another victim to outwit. Playing tricks on his brother had become rather dull. Thor was too trusting to ever really frighten him. Even playing chess with his mother had become tedious after having done so for over a decade. Especially since he could never win unless he cheated, and she always knew when he did so. He threw the book he was reading on his bed, having made up his mind that he would turn into a snake to hide under his brother's pillow again. At this point the prince ran into his room. Pack your things, we're going to Midgard, he said. Fine, said Loki after some time, What's the occasion? Heimdall has found us a place where men love to drink and fight. A nice chance to get into a brawl again. answered the young god. Ah, so we're going to a land filled with men like you, said Loki while rolling his eyes, Can I at least bring my knives? Of course, replied Thor, And worry not brother. I bet they'll have plenty of snakes as well.
