Iron Wall

"...she should be good after a good amount of rest."

Obi POV

I was told to stay in the room, while master does some paperwork. Shirayuki insisted on staying to keep me company, but I knew she had work to do at the garden as well. I sat on a stool next to the sleeping girl. Even when in an unconscious state, she still manages to be so perfect. I could see her lips parted slightly, taking in small breaths at a time. Her chest would rise ever so slightly, then go down again, with each breath. Her eyelashes were so long. And her shiny, long, blue locks, framed her face nicely.

I knew I sounded like a creep in my head... but she was just so appealing- I couldn't seem to take my eyes off her restless body. My head shot up, to a small rustling noise. I saw her face turn over to mine. She slowly began to rub her eyes, while parting her lips, for a yawn.

Third Person POV

Akari had finally awoken from her slumber, though, she definitely still needed a lot more rest for her body to relax. Taking her by fright, the first thing she saw when her vision came back to her, was a cat-eyed male, above her. Quickly, she scrambled out of the sheets.

"Who are you..?" She asked coldly. Her morning crankiness, only doubled her already scary glare.

"Oh, you're up! Sorry, master told me to watch over you until you woke up. And I have to escort you around. I'm Obi by the way." The brown haired lad announced, extending his right arm out to the tired lass. In return, the girl had only slapped his arm away, before replying.

"Akari, nice to meet you." Even if the blue headed beauty was still tired, she arose from her spot on the bed, before beginning to walk out the infirmary. Garak, the chief court pharmacist, was once again asleep. So, the sleepy female didn't bother acknowledging the women. Obi got to his feet, and began following her around.

It was quite clear, the female leading knew her way around the castle, as she easily made her way over to the second prince's office. Her pale, slim fingers traced the door handle, before opening it.

"Good morning." She yawned, greeting the four members, who were already settled in the room.

Shirayuki was at a separate desk, reading a book about plants, and cures. While Mitsuhide and Kiki were standing, with a book in their hands. Zen, on the other hand, had his brows furrowed, aggressively signing some papers. They all looked up to the door, to see Akari, standing at the entrance, with Obi behind her. She glided her way over to the bookshelves, and looked for a book to read.

"Akari! Shouldn't you be sleeping? Shirayuki said your body still isn't well." Zen asked, while taking a break from his work.

"Hmm, yea, but I wanted a book. I woke up, and can't go back to sleep." Akari tilted her head back, taking a glance at Shirayuki. "Are you- Shirayuki? You're the girl that I helped out back in town." Akari hummed.

"Oh yes! I am still very grateful, but if I may ask... How did you manage to get that wound?" Shirayuki asked, pointing to Akari's waist, which was wrapped in thick white bandages.

"Oh. some guy stabbed me." Akari stated, bluntly. Everyone in the room sweat dropped, she didn't seem to want to continue her sentence. Finally standing up from her squatting position, she brought a book up with her. Suddenly, she pointed her finger at Obi, "You. Obi, you can read for me." She said, pushing the book into Obi's chest.

He looked at her questionably, with one brow raised. "Heh, she might seem cold, and scary, but she's like a baby inside." Mitsuhide chuckled. However, he was soon silenced as he was met with Akari's glare. Though she still had her rare soft side, her cold façade had only gotten worse over the years. The trio didn't know what she experienced, but they could see, their once sweet close friend, was starting to build her wall again. The invisible iron wall that covered her body. They had opened her up once, and that was the best time of Akari's life. But now.. After her disappearance, and return, they didn't know if they would be able to break her wall again. They wanted to be let in, to see her smile again. They enjoyed how the corner of her eyes slightly wrinkled, when she gave an opened eyed smile. It was then, that they determined it. Kiki, Mitsuhide, and Zen glanced at each other, acknowledging that they had the same thought.

They were going to help her. Whatever happened after she left the castle, they didn't want it to haunt her anymore.
