                                         CANADIAN CHRISTMAS TREE FARM

                                                                CHAPTER 1
                                                            In the beginning

It was 1982, and Krystal and Kattie are sisters, who live on the Gold Coast Australia. They had just been dealt with a devastating loss by their younger brother. Weaver had passed away several months prior to this very moment. Krystal adored her brother very much, but it wasn't the close bond he had with Kattie it was if they were twins, they did everything together. They were two peas in a pod nothing without the other. Slept in the same room, talking about most things to each other and about what their day was like the things they did most night until their mum came it because they were always giggling as usual. Whereas Krystal slept in the bedroom next door to them doing her homework until her mom popped her head in and said ' bedtime now put books away' she them said 'night mum' but Patsy was gone. As she was getting ready for bed, she thought to herself I wonder what Kattie and Weaver are doing are they asleep yet. She thought about it and thought naa I doubt it.
On the other side of the continent  in Canada Raymond Speck  who runs a Christmas tree farm he was  not always so grumpy as back in \days " he  and his wife had just purchased a Christmas tree farm at Christmas in Canada  and they were driving with their two twin sons Charlie and Chaplin through the night to go to their home and a Reindeer ran out in front of their vehicle as Almond was driving lost control of the car and trailer she was towing both Almond and one of their twin sons Charlie  was killed that night altering his and Chaplin's life forever. Raymond and Almond met about ten years go when Charlie moved to a new school in Canada Glass High School. His parents moved to the area as his dad was transferred through work to a new location which was Canada Glass near Montreal. Raymond was a quiet reserved young man, so on his first day of high school, he met Almond there who caught his eye. Who then proceeded to approach him and introduce herself to Raymond and said that if he needs any help with anything or where to go, she is there any time. Then proceeded to give Raymond her home number and practically her life story about how she was an only child who was adopted by a lovely Jewish couple who have lived in the area for thirty-plus years who themselves were childhood sweethearts. He then said thanks and proceeded to for her information and off he went as he was going to be late for class, she then said what class do you have he then said, 'English'.  He was a very quiet young man who believed in the spirit of Christmas and was a deeply Christian religiously young man ,anyone that came into his life would have to be the same values and belief as he.so he said thank you and followed her to class, as they got to class she introduced him to teacher, as new student and friend and with that infectious smile he probably could follow her only from that smile, while made her hazel eyes glow and put a smile on the very person she was talking to you. At the end of the day, he had enjoyed his day with a smile on his face. He was deeply close to his parents who had the said beliefs and brought him up in the right manner which was the right way or so he thought. Tuesday morning the next day  as he  was waiting for his bus to take him to school, three of his schoolmates, whom he had not associated with at all the previous day  started to tease him on the bus to school which kind of escalated by the time he got to school as he got off the bus the taller one decided to trip him as he got off the bus which made Raymond's Blond hair get a bit of gravel in it which caused a bit of tinge from the red from the said gravel, as he got up boys kept teasing him on his looks and demeaning and way he came across to them, saying things to cause a fight, which unfortunately Raymond could no longer take so he punched the middle size boy with brown hair and freckles. Mr Price the Vice Principal only just saw the last moments of the said scuffle. Almond at that very moment saw the whole thing and followed the boys to the principal's office followed by the vice-principal, who told us all to stop our fighting and sent us to the Principal office who has a few secrets of his own which were not going to so good for Raymond. Once inside the principal office, he told the boys to get back to class. he then turned and he then informed Raymond, 'I am contacting your parents as for bullying.'  He was feeling aghast... Thinking I was only defending myself, he said to the principal. Well, the principal who decided I am going to make an example of this new boy needs to be taught a lesson so he said to him 'Raymond detention for the next five days we do not accept bullying in this school.' You may go to class and detention starts tomorrow after school but bullies got nothing at all. He was walking around in a daze for most of the day and got on the bus saw Almond but was quiet for most of the time he then went home after getting dropped off by the bus. He decided to explain to his parents when they got home about the tripping as he got off the bus, and hitting the middle bully which they both said to him we do not condone your actions but the bullies got no punishment at all we are going to see your principal tomorrow first thing in the morning to dispute his actions against you. The family then decided to talk about their day and what happened during their day.
They had dinner then did dishes as usual as he was thinking about the events of the day then couldn't get over the fact that Almond stood up for him knowing they only just met. As he was getting ready for bed and he hoped his day tomorrow worked out better for him than his day today, as he was drifting off to sleep he thought about Almond and that beautiful smile,
The next morning his mother came in and said time to get up son, breakfast is ready in about twenty minutes. As he was getting up his thoughts drifted to that crazy day he had yesterday, as the sun shone in through his lace curtains and his thoughts were why he was given detention after school but other boys got nothing it confused him greatly,he knows he was wrong in his actions but it did confuse him as to the behaviour of those other boys and Almond just thinking about her brought a great smile to his face, even though they didn't know each other that well, it was like he had known her forever. Raymond went downstairs and had breakfast with his parents discuss what happened at school yesterday and what was going to be done in regards to their discussion with the principal so he went and packs his lunch as something his mother and father instilled in him in regards to respect and honour and off they went to school, as usual Almond was waiting by the principal office, as she saw his parents she introduced herself to his parents talking about the events of yesterday Raymond's parents were very impressed as I was as usual. Just at that moment the principal arrived and said ' what are you all doing here' Raymond's parents said' we're here to discuss the events of yesterday, and we understand Raymond is not the instigator about what happened yesterday, those bullies are certainly we are most disappointed in the action of this school.' The principal said' Raymond was the instigator not those good well behaved  boys from good homes'.Almond then said  'yeah and butter wouldn't melt in their mouths'.The Principal then went on saying our school does not know your son for all we know he could of been a bully at his previous school we do not know this,at the exact moment raymond's parents were aghast at the thought of their son being a bully besides what he done yesterday that did not condone what he did, but he was getting bullied himself so what were they to do so they said to the Principal they didn't want their son starting his detention at all but the principal was not happy with that saying this school has rules and they should be abide by and if you son doesn't like this school rules maybe you should take him to another school where he can follow rules Raymonds parent then explained in a calm manner we are going to education dept about this those other children bullied our son is a good boy and we have a witness so we will be taking our son home now, and calling the board of education of Canada in regards to this new information and as they said that the principal was quick to say I will defer detention to after I have spoken to these young men. As soon as Raymond's parents were out of earshot she heard the principal pick up the phone and say to the person on the other end 'we need to talk now'... He then listened for a few minutes and then slammed the phone down and swore. Almond was certain this did not go well during his conversation, she then went after Raymond and his parents  calling out to them in regards to what he was going to do, and she approached him he rolled his eyes said mum and dad this is the girl that helped me yesterday getting to class,which peaked his dad's interest in thinking  they only just met but he was the same when he met his sons mother all those years ago in high school..the memories he gotta feeling his boy is fighting this one,she is from what he observed was a lovely young lady.
