Jasmine Above played by Alexis Blidel
I had woke to the electronic trilling f my phone alarm. Six o'clock in the morning. What an ungodly time to be awake. I slide out from beneath my covers and touch my feet to the carpeted floor an stand. I make my way to my closet and quickly pull out an outfit for the day. The clothes consisted of a pair of dark-wash skinny jeans and a large black hoodie with the phrase " Don't flatter yourself, I only look up to you because I am short." In cursive white lettering. I completed the outfit with my black Vans hightops.
I scurry into my ensuite bathroom. I dress in font of my bathroom mirror, occasionally lookingat my appearance. I am a short curvy girl at the height of four foot eleven inches, with very long brunette hair, pin straight. My bright blue eyes are encased by long black lashes, and I have a deep dimple in my left cheek. This is me Jasmine couture, 17 years old with one friend and no family. I check the time on the screen of my phone, 6:20 A.M, I have to be at school by seven. I quickly brushed out my hair and lined my eyes with kohl eyeliner. I walk through the short hallway into my small living room, I take the few extra steps into the even tinier kitchen and start my coffee maker. Coffee is a mandatory part of my day, since I work evening shifts during the school week and and all day on the weekends at the local diner, Blue Rose. As well as dance after my shifts on the weekends at a very exclusive , well more like under- appreciated dance studio. I pour a stream of strong black coffee in my to go cup, and snap on the lid. I slide my faux black leather book bag over my shoulder and rush outth door making sure to lock it on my way out.
The walk to school took a total of 10 minutes from my rundown building, so it goes by fast. in no time I reached the high school, Amber Lynn High. I am striding though the doors with my head down when a body collides with mine. I loop up to see who just slammed into me. Ha! get it I looked up to them because I am short! I see the person is my bestfriend Aria James. Aria is like the total opposite of me, she's tall, loud, outgoing, and a cheerleader. She is also, one of the three resident black kids in our school. Opposites attract though, right? Without a word aria hugged me tight then dragged me in the direction of my locker. As we got closer she finally started talking, starting out with. " Jazzy hon, are you okay? You never texted me last night." She says full of worry, Aria is always worried about me. " I know, I'm sorry. I was so tired, I nearly fell on the stairs before I could make it to my apartment." I tell her, while entering the locker combination. "Jaz, you need a break! you work and go to school everyday! A 17 year old girl should not have to do that." She all but shouts at me. I mean I understand her worries, I love that she cares so much about me, but she knows I need to work if I want a place to live. " Aria, you know I can't take a break." I say quietly. "I know honey, I just worry so much! But now that this is settled, how about going to class?" She replies. With a nod I walk in step with her down the hall to our fist class of the day Junior English. We strut ( well more like Aria struts and I shuffle) into the class and take our seats. " I think I am going to have Jackson bring me to the diner for our date." Aria whispers, even though no one is in the room, about the boy she met at the mall last week. " That sounds cool. Sit in my section, I'll give you a free dessert." I say with a smile. I love to spoil Aria, when she comes to the diner. What she doesn't know is that the stuff I say I am giving for free I pay for. I know if she knew she would insist on paying back every penny and never let me give her "Free" stuff again. I like to give her something back, for brightening my days and making me welcome in her family. " Alright everyone, get ready to take some notes." Mr. Bright says.
Ten pages of notes, and a huge headache later we are off to the next class. This is where we split her to math and me to science. Walking down the science hall, my head down and Go To Town by Doja Cat blasting in my ears, my body suddenly smacks into another body for the second time today. Looking up through my lashes, I see the school golden boy and soccer star, Adam Larson. Adam is what I would describe as the three T's : Tall, Tanned, and Toned. his hazel eyes are slightly shaded by his long shaggy, blonde hair. At the moment I am internally freaking out because I , Jasmine couture the nerdy girl with no parents just ran into (Literally) ADAM Larson most popular boy in school. I slowly pull out my earbuds and begin to apologize. " Oh my gosh, I am so sorry! I wasn't looking, and i - I am just so sorry." I stammer. Adam smiles widely, making his whole face brighten. "It's fine, really, I wasn't looking either." He says making me feel a tad bit better. " I'm Jasmine.' I whisper. "Adam, nice to meet you Jasmine." He replies. I peak at my phone, realizing I am almost late for my next class. " Yeah, I have to go. See Ya!" I say before running, like literally running , to my class. I make it in to the lab room right as the bell clamors throughout the school.
