"It's somehow always cold here. I never understood why I never moved, because I hate the cold. But he didn't, he loved the cold. He always seemed happier with the cold weather. That's why we moved here to North Dakota. It's actually quite beautiful if you took the time to sit and watch the scenery."

" Please state your name for the record."

"My name is Taylor Styles. Now can you please explain how therapy will help me in any way. My husband died. Your just here to tell me in a pretty way."

"My job is to comfort you and help you go through this and figure out why your husband would commit suicide."

"He didn't commit." I whispered to myself.

"Now the first step is accepting the death. Tell me how that day went."

" Well the alarm went off. It has this really annoying car tone to it. He, as usual, swung his hand over me to turn it off. I turned to him and his eyes were a deep green. Like if I stared in them long enough I'd fall into them. Quite extraordinary..."

Harry Styles is my husband. He died about 3 months ago. The detectives claimed his death as a suicide but I know there is something more going on. Harry was kind and charming and he had a good life. He wouldn't just kill himself out of nowhere. I of all people know that.

It was December 13, the day of my birthday. You know it supposed to be happy and you celebrate with friends and a party. Lots of drinks and balloons and party games. Me? Oh no my birthday was a whole different story. After waking up Harry climbs out of bed and began showering. My phone started ringing and what a shocker it was Karlie.

"Hey, what's up?"

" Hey Tay I need a favor. My car broke down and I don't know who else to call and I'm super scared out here because I'm in the middle of nowhere where there are lots of animals and creepy people living cabins deep in the woods which no one thinks about them ends up getting axed and there's-"

" Slow down! Where are you, I'll pick you up."

" I'm at Scone Lake by the Oak trees."

"My goodness there is a reason that area is restricted to the public Karlie! What were you thinking!"

" I know, I know. Just please hurry."

Harry got out of the shower and couldn't help but stare. Dang. How did I manage to marry him.

"Who was that?" Harry questioned me with a smirk on his face, as water dripped from his brown floppy hair.

"It was Karlie she's having car trouble. I'm just going to go pick her up. I'll be back soon."

I grabbed my jeans, plain maroon shirt, riding boots, and my brown floppy hat and left to get Karlie. That was the last I saw of Harry until 3:43.

I could feel the tiny bumps as my Jeep rode along the rocky path to Scone Lake. I felt a sense of Deja Vu but couldn't quite figure out why. After a couple minutes passes the clock hit 7:47 and I counted the bison as I passed the golden meadow of shame. There was a story told for many years of a man who lived in a shack in that very meadow who used to have parties in the meadow with several girls until he took their first time and ultimately their last. He is now on death row and rightfully convicted. Now all that stands is the abandoned shack and the golden meadow. Once so green with life.

As I pulled to the side of the road a few feet away from Karlie's car I noticed a frail man halfway hidden from the oaks watching.

" Oh my gosh! This is why you're my best friend, I would never survive without you! I hope you know how amazing you are."

" I know, I know. I'm a lifesaver. Ha! Feel like I've heard this speech before." I spoke as I checked her car. " Honey, you have a flat tire." I sighed.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm sorry. I really am extremely grateful."

I worked faster than I thought I would have, or as I'm expected to as a woman. The motivation from getting out of that dark death trap was enough. I peered back to the trees to see if that man was still there. He wasn't.

The tire was finally changed, and Karlie got in and followed me on the drive back to my apartment. We passed the God forsaken meadow again, getting the chills every time I passed it. When we finally got passed the meadow and through the back roads, I glanced out my side window through the trees again, and I saw the same man from earlier there. I couldn't help but think it was impossible for him to get there at the same time if not faster by foot.

We finally got back to the city and pulled into the parking spot designated to my apartment, Karlie into her spot. The parking space next to mine was Harry's, and it was also known as the useless spot because he was at work so much it was always empty. He really did love his job, he was a music producer, and found so much joy in the creativity in music and liveliness. He was always putting himself out there and hoping for the best and most of the time, he got the best. He was the best man I've ever met in my entire life. He was mine.
