Chapter 28: Daniel Is The Enemy

I shifted back, Matthew handed me a pair of clothes and I slipped it on. The pathway is empty, yet lighted. I walked forward with my first beta Gabriel, my second beta Matthew and my hunter Dolan and the rest stayed back. As we walked towards the big house, I suppose their headquarters, I flung it open. And I was frozen by the moment I saw Audrey tied at the big wooden cross, surrounded by wolves bane.In this case I can't enter the circle and save her, it has a barrier and no one can enter, except a human. A human can break the barrier, but no one is with me right now. I clenched my fist and looked at Audrey's bruised body. Her pale skin turned to a purple. Her lips were dried and stained and dried. I stepped forward, I could barely breathe. Just knowing that my Mate was in pain makes me want to destroy everything around me."Audrey, Audrey!" A man walked on a hallway with an evil grin."Daniel!" I screamed with pure rage. She doesn't mean anything to me!" I laughed nonchalantly. I can't tell how I was able to say that without apologizing to Audrey, but I'm glad I managed. I continued putting up the act. "You can kill her anytime. I came here to end you and your tricks." My words made Daniel lose his smile. I grinned."Go! Kill her, she doesn't mean anything to me anyways." I urged him. A voice inside me wished he wouldn't do as I say."No, no, no y-you can't fool me!" He tried to regain his composure,, but failed miserably. "You're kidding r-right? You don't want her to die! You're lying." He hissed, but my face expression held no deception. Please don't"Go on." I dared him. Then I glanced at Audrey. She was looking at me, wide awake. Tears were flowing from her eyes.Oh no! She heard it! I did my best not to flinch; I looked away and turned to Daniel again."Well, she's awake now! How was your nap, Audrey? Was it good? Well, prepare yourself. Because that's the last wink of sleep you'll have", Daniel said and chuckled."Lady!" Matthew exclaimed. I glanced at them and they looked back. 'I know what I'm doing!' I said on mind links. I would never put her in danger"T-Troy, glad you're here...", Audrey's voice was in pain. I never looked at her. Hearing her cries was already enough torture, and it would kill me to see how awful her situation is and how useless I am as his mate."So, we need to end this", he snapped his fingers and Mac, my old friend, went out to join Daniel's side.
