The gray clouds were the only thing covering over the city along side a night sky. It hadn't rained that day, but the ground still found it's way to be wet.
Tears.
The tears of a young woman hit the ground as she was stuck in her sarrow. This woman's name was Kaoruko Awata, also known as the former sidekick of Nighteye, Bubble girl. Her tears hit the ground under that night sky. Why was she crying? Why was she sad on this day?
The death of Nighteye.
She had worked with this man for her hero carrier, if not to say most of it. She had been by his side for a long time. It was during a raid on a Yakuza group when it happened. She wasn't there during the moment it happened, but she was told that he had took a stone spike to his gut taking out his stomach complete.
She was able to see him in his last moments before he took a knock on death's door, and when that door opened, he left. The only other ones present as this happened were All might, the former number one and former partner. Mirio Togata, a third year intern under Nighteye. And Izuku Midoriya, a first year intern.
They all watched as he passed away in his bed, with a smile on his face.
Currently, Kaoruko Awata was sitting outside of the hospital Nighteye had passed away in. She was staring up at the night sky in a daze as she had nothing but memories in her mind. What she didn't expect was someone else to follow her out.
"Hey..." She heard a voice call out to her. She turned to face Izuku Midoriya, standing there with a drink in hand offering it to her. She looked at the boys face and it was clearly obvious that he had cried, the red marks around his eyes showing signs of rubbing stray away tears.
"Oh.... H-hey Midoriya. I didn't see you there." She said trying to put a smile on her face. The smile was a forced, with obvious signs of struggle. Izuku could tell the smile was forced, past experiences could help with that. He took a seat on the curve next to her and handed the drink to her, one she gladly accepted it.
They sat in silence for a minute. Neither knowing how to start the conversation with the other. They have gotten to know each other extremely well over the time in the internship, but this was a different situation for the both of them entirely.
Finally, one of them broke the silence.
"I'm sorry..." Izuku said looking at the ground between his legs. Kaoruko looked up and to him.
"Sorry? For what?" She asked him. Izuku looked up from the ground to look her in the eyes. He had a red rash under his eyes from the tears. His eyes looks dim and sad.
"I was there... I was there when it happened and I wasn't able to save him. If..... If only I was faster..." He told her as he looked back down to the ground. He felt as shame fell upon him, as if he had failed everyone around him. The thought had filled his head multiple times over as it was a loop of failure and regret.
"I wanted to save everyone.... I... I wanted to keep everyone safe.... But... I failed... I-i failed him... I failed Miro.... And I failed you too... I wouldn't even blame you it you hated me for not being able to help.... I deserve to be hated.." Izuku told her as she sat there and listened to him speak.
"...That's not true..." Kaoruko told him as he looked up at her.
"I don't blame you for anything that happened. I-i could never blame you for something like that. I know you tried your damnnest to try and save everyone, but you can't always save everyone... As much as you chant in your head, as much as you fight through the thoughts in your head, sometimes, there are moments you can't help everyone in the end..." Kaoruko told Izuku as she looked him in the eyes.
