Hey guys before you start to I would just like to say thank to one of my closest friend Courtie9876. The book has only been successful because of her.
Thx bae xoxoxoxoxo.
Have you ever had the feeling when you feel like you don't belong, like you're the odd one out, like you're the one that makes everything worse. Well that is exactly what I feel right now, the day since mom got a divorce the, day since 'he' left us and mum's been a wreck: she never talks to anyone and its like she's forgot how to smile and laugh. Everyday I come home to find mum crying and my older brother telling mom that 'its okay'.
School is a different story for me well it might be because they know about my past or the fact that I am considered 'bad'. Being 'bad' isn't a bad thing for me because I don't get distracted a lot, instead I get time to think about things.
My close friends Courtney and Sam are the type of friends you can rely on, even when things go wrong, especially with me. When I'm in a bad mood or something bad has happened they always help me calm down and see the brighter side. Well that's probably because we've been friends since we learnt how to crawl.
Now here I am, sitting in front of mum trying to make her smile. "Remember the time when Chance spilt orange juice all over your white dress and you made him clean it until there was no stain left."
I asked with a smile erupting on my face remembering that moment, I was 12 and Chance was 15. He was too busy playing with his phone while drinking orange juice he smashed into mom and spilt orange juice all over her white satin dress, she was so angry that she took his phone away from him until he got her dress cleaned. Since he couldn't get the stain away he brought her a new dress and an apology card.
I look across the table and saw mum's eyes brimming with tears and she said with a sad smile. "Your father brought me that dress on our 10th anniversary."
"Mum please! He is not my father and can you not ruin your day, thinking about him, remember he left us, for a girl who is half his age!........You can't just sit there all the time and think about him.
Please mum please be happy, please stop crying yourself to sleep and please stop being a person I don't know. You're being miserable for a reason that is stupid......mum please because I miss her a lot!" I said, as the last bit came out as a whisper and looked up at mom.
I stood up from my chair and went around to where she was sitting, hugged her and said, "love you mum" with that I got my bag off the counter and left the house.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~" So how has your mom been?" my best friend Courtney asked.
"She's going well but this morning she started crying again which was basically my fault, I started talking about the past again" I said with a frown.
"She'll be ok Riley its not your fault, you just need to relax a little" Courtney said patting my arm.
"Yeah she'll be ok, she knows how to take care of herself. Actually you know what's really relaxing?" Sam said with a smirk.
"Look if its a party you're talking about Sam I can't make it tonight,I have fighting and I can't afford to miss it." I said giving her a sad smile. "But on the other hand you guys can come and watch tonight."
"OH MY GOD really..... I am totally skipping the party" Sam said with a squeal. "You up for it Courtney?" Sam asked looking at her.
"I wouldn't miss it!" she said to me.
"Well..Well..Well! Look who we have here Kaitlin", the most frustrating voice called out from behind us.
"Well..Well..Well! Look who we have here guys", I replied them with bored tone.
"Coping are we now freak", sneered Sarra.
"Being a bitch again Sarra and here I was thinking you changed" I said glaring at her.
"Well atleast I don't make people run in fear", she sniggered folding her arms right under her boobs making it look like she got plastic surgery.
"At Least she doesn't go around dressing like a slut, like have you seen yourself in the mirror you look like barbie if she was a dollar hooker". Courtney threw at Sarra's caked face.
Sarra was utterly speechless after Courtney's outburst, after a good minute of standing there and glaring at us she left us huffing in anger.
I look back at Court "Thanks for standing up for me" I said hugging her.
Courtney is one of my closest friend. She used to be a happy, carefree, bold and an outspoken person who had the perfect life. Then all of the sudden at the end of 10th grade her mom passed away, which had a very heavy impact on her, at the time the person she trusted the most had left and her father was broken as hell, after a few month's her father started drinking and ignoring her, but he's better now and spends as much time with Courtney and her brothers much as possible.
"Common Court, she doesn't deserve our attention." stated Sam trying to cheer her up.
"Yeah forget about her, she just a bitch, who wants attention." I replied, "Common you know what we will make you feel better?"
"What?" Courtney replied.
"Going to class we're already 5 minutes late and I don't want to get a detention after school and miss out on my fight." I replied with a smirk as she gave an evil eye.
We started walking toward our homeroom and then all of the sudden the most beautiful smell ever hit me, it was the smell of musk and cigarettes. I stopped automatically and started looking around for that smell, all of the sudden my forest green eyes met with deep blue eyes. It reminded me of the deep ocean and the more I looked the more I felt like I could drown in them.
"RILEY! Common we're gonna be late if you don't hurry."Sam's voice brought me back to reality.
"Wait a sec", as I said that I turned back around to look at the mysterious guy but found no one standing.
"Common lets go" and with that I was being dragged to my homeroom.
