" Hey, Sweetheart," Helen's voice grabbed Mia's attention, and the young female paused the music to look at the older female.

" Hey, Mom! Guess what! I have finally decided on a name for my new cat," Mia excitedly tells Helen.

" Oh? And what would the cat be called?" Helen asked, sounding curious as she enters the bedroom.

Mia grabs her black-white cat, and she fondly smiled at her new pet.

" I have decided to name my cat Louie. The name is cute, right?" Mia happily asked her mother.

Helen fondly stared at Mia's curly, bushy dark brown hair and brown eyes behind a pair of glasses.

" It is a cute name," Helen agreed with Mia as she sits down on the bed and pet Louie.

" Thanks for giving me Louie as my birthday present, Mom! I promise you I will take good care of him," Mia brightly smiled as she hugs Louie close to her.

" You are a beautiful, intelligent, and responsible individual. I know you are capable of looking after Louie," Helen fondly smiled at Mia as her chocolate brown eyes saddened.

Mia lovingly kissed the top of Louie's furry head. Her chocolate brown eyes blinked when she sees Helen sadly staring at her.

" Mom? What's wrong?" Mia asked, looking and sounding concerned.

" It's your father, Phillipe," Helen whispers.

" The one who writes letters to me for every birthday and holidays? As well as pay for my school's tuition. What about him?" Mia asked with a raised eyebrow.

" Yes. That one-," Helen nods her head.

"-I-I recently got the news that your father passed away," Helen softly spoke to Mia.

Mia sat on her bed as she hugs Louie while looking at Helen in disbelief.

" What?" Mia mouths out to Helen.

Helen nods her head in response.

" I mean, I know I don't personally know him since he left us when I was a baby. But it is so weird to hear you say that he is gone gone," Mia mumbled, not sure if she should feel sad about Phillipe being dead since she doesn't have a close relationship with him.

" I understand if you want to cry, Sweetheart," Helen gently brushed Mia's bushy, curly dark brown hair.

Mia silently pets Louie's furry body, feeling a mixture of emotions of hearing that her birth father died on her sixteenth birthday.

" Not only that. There is something else that I have to tell you," Helen calmly tells Mia.

" What is it? Are you going to tell me I have a half brother or sister, and they will be living with us?" Mia sarcastically asked Helen, trying to hide her sadness at the sudden news that Phillipe is dead.

" In a way. You have a twin sister, who is ten minutes older than you. Her name is Aurora Celeste Renaldi-Thermopolis. And she is going to be living with us," Helen informs Mia.

Mia's chocolate brown eyes widened when she hears that she has an older sister, who is also her twin.

" Shut up!" Mia shouts, causing Louie to jump off of her grasp and lie on the bed beside her.

" What kind of a Parent Trap is this?!" Mia asked as she gets out of bed, and she stands up.

Helen worriedly stared at Mia since she doesn't want her daughter to get hurt.

" Mom! Why didn't you tell me I have a freaking twin? What's next? Dad is a King. And she and I are lost princesses of a foreign kingdom?" Mia sarcastically asked Helen, feeling a mixture of emotions with the sudden news that she isn't an only child.

Helen didn't answer the second question, but she gets out of the bed, and she stands up to face Mia. The older female then placed her hands on her daughter's shoulders as she gently grasped them.

" Mia. After your father and I got divorced. I suggested that he took your sister with him because I couldn't raise two girls on my own being a painter and having not that much salary to feed two mouths and myself," Helen calmly speaks to Mia.

Mia sadly stares at Helen since she is aware that they aren't wealthy, but they managed to survive thanks to Phillipe giving them yearly money.

" Sorry, Mom," Mia mumbled, feeling terrible for shouting at Helen.

Helen hugs Mia close as she gently brushed her daughter's bushy, curly hair.

Mia hugs Helen back, feeling curious, excited, and worried about meeting her older twin sister that she has never known about till now.

" Do you think Aurora knows about us?" Mia softly asked Helen.

Helen wore a conflicting gaze since she did tell Phillipe not to tell Aurora about her and Mia.

" I don't know," Helen whispers as the room gets silent until the doorbell rang.

" Do you think that's her?" Mia curiously yet nervously asked Helen.

" I don't know. Let me go check. You stay here," Helen lets go of Mia as she walks out of the bedroom.

Mia stood there as she turns around to stare at Louie, who is looking at her.

" Louie! My birthday has gotten so much weirder," Mia softly tells Louie, who meowed at her.

Downstairs, Helen walks towards the door, and she opens it, seeing her daughter, Mia's best friend, fifteen-year-old brown-haired and blue-eyed Lilly Moscovitz.

" Hello, Ms. Thermopolis! I have come to celebrate my best friend's anniversary of her birth!" Lilly excitedly tells Helen.

' Good. Mia does need a distraction while I go pick up her sister,' Helen tells herself as she kindly smiled at Lilly.

" Afternoon, Lilly. Mia is upstairs in her room. I can call her down for you. Come inside," Helen kindly tells Lilly as the younger female stepped inside.

" Mia! Lilly is here!" Helen shouts as she grabs her purse and car keys.

" Heading out, Ms. Thermopolis?" Lilly kindly asked Helen.

" Yes. I have something important to do, but I will meet you and Mia later to celebrate her birthday," Helen gently pats Lilly's shoulders as she grabs her sweater, and she walks out of the house.

Lilly waves goodbye as she watched Helen walked towards a car and getting inside the vehicle. She then looks away when she hears her name.

" Hey, Lilly," Mia calls out as she walks down the stairs, dressed in casual clothing, with Louie following behind her.

" Hey, Best friend! Ready to celebrate you finally becoming sixteen?" Lilly excitedly asked since she, herself, will be sixteen in two months, on November 10.

" Yeah. Let's go to the nearest mall. There is something I have to tell you," Mia grabs her purse, house key, and sweater as she turns to Louie.

" Louie. Be a good boy for me and watch over the house, okay," Mia lovingly pets Louie as she waves goodbye, and she walks out of the house with Lilly.
