I wake up to my alarm blaring. I hit the snooze and go through my normal morning routine. I take a shower then get dressed and put some makeup on. It's the first day back after winter break. I grab my phone and walk downstairs so I can eat. I get down and see a note on the counter.
'Me and your father wanted to go on another vacation so we bought plane tickets and left this morning. We will be back in 6 months. There's $40,000 in the safe upstairs. You know the combination. Love u see you in 6 months.

Really again. I roll my eyes. Their never here for more than a day and then their off a again. Of course they leave the day before my birthday. I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket and see I got a text from my best friend, Monique, but I call her Mooni. She says she's out front. She is a senior and I'm a junior. She has a car so she drives me to school. I grab my backpack and jog outside side with an apple in my hand. I smile at her as I get in the car and she smiles back as she pulls out of my driveway.
"Hey." Someone says creepily in my ear. I turn around about to hit whoever it is, then I see it's just Gabe. Mooni's boyfriend. I roll my eyes.
"Can we go to starbucks??" Gabe asks. Mooni takes a quick glance at me and I nod. We head to starbucks to get our drinks and then head to school.
