I then proceeded to not talk the whole time we were on the bus and continued this all the way until I had to speak in math class and obviously got the question wrong. Don't know why I even tried.
A few classes later, in recess, it happened. I was not tagging anyone in tag when a shot rang out. It hit metal before the bullet fell onto the ground. Everyone went silent and stopped moving. A few seconds later and we were all running inside. Another shot. More screaming. We all got inside, but when I turned around I noticed my friend, Robert wasn't with us. He was lying on the ground, bleeding. I stared around at my classmates, who were all frozen in shock.
I, in the heat of the moment, noticed that the bullies and Gavin weren't there. Coincidence?
But, before I could truly understand what just happened, they came over. All the bullies. And they yelled. "It was him!" They pointed at me. "Aidan. He did it. I watched him!" All I remembered thinking before all of Gavins followers started punching me was 'I... absolutely... despise... all. Of. You.
I woke up in a hospital.
