High School Sweethearts (Newt x Reader AU)

We all take cabs to Mcdonald's. Newt and I in the first one, Thomas, Minho and Chuck in the second, and Gally, Ben and Alby in the last. We all make it to Mcdonald's shortly and go inside. We all go up to order. Once we have our food, we make our way to the back and pull two tables together. Everyone starts to talk as I drift into my own thoughts.

What if I'm just over-exaggerating? Should I have forgiven her? Will I ever forgive her? Will things ever go back to normal? Will they hate me if I stop talking to Allie? Allie is the one that they like more. What if they stop hanging out with me because Allie is gone?

I am snapped out of my thoughts when I feel Newt put his hand on my thigh and squeeze. I look up at him and he leans down to my ear and whispers "It's ok, no need to worry.".

"Ok, so what's going on with you two? First, you guys share a steamy kiss at the bonfire. Then Y/n storms out of the café, and Newt follows her. Then we didn't see or hear from you guys all yesterday, and now you guys show up together at the airport and insist on going in the same cab." Minho says sassily, biting into his chicken nugget.

"Well..." I say awkwardly, looking at Newt.

"Y/n and I are dating. I was with her yesterday and then I slept over at her house last night." Newt answers.

We sit there waiting for the group to answer when Gally pulls out twenty dollars and places it on the table.

"Come on guys, I thought you would have waited until school," Minho says as he places twenty dollars on the table as well.

Ben and Chuck follow in the action while Thomas and Alby split up the money.

"You guys placed a bet on our relationship?" I say in shock.

"Well...yes, but not that you guys wouldn't get together. Just when you would." Alby says, trying to give a reason for the bet.

"I think Newt and I should get some of the money. You know, because the bet was about us." I say with a cheeky smile as I put my hand out.

"Fine, you get a quarter," Thomas says with a sigh.

"I think it should at least be a third of it," Newt says, joining in on it with me.

"Fine, but no more than that," Alby says.

"You guys just got played," Chuck says with a laugh.

    We all start to die from laughter. We continue to talk and Newt would give me the occasional kiss on the cheek. The afternoon went by fairly quickly, with all of us chatting and having a good time. As I was laughing, I nearly forgot that in three days, we have to go back to school.

"Are you guys ready for school?" I ask, Biting into my happy meal cheeseburger.

"No, I don't want the summer to be over," Thomas says.

"Same, I've had so much fun. It's going to be so boring." Minho says.

"I'm excited," Chuck says, bouncing in his chair.

"Thank you, Chuck. At least, someone is happy school is starting again." I say.

"Well, I'm excited because I will get to see my beautiful girlfriend every day at school," Newt says, kissing me on the lips.

I playfully shove him and say, "You are too sweet.".

"I know," he says with a chuckle.

"Oh, great, one more thing not to look forward to in school," Minho says sarcastically.

"Oh, shut up. We are adorable." I say, giving Newt a long passionate kiss as I hear them all say, 'Get a room'.

    We all laugh once again and start to finish eating. By the time we are all done eating and have cleaned up, it is 2:45.  We all say our goodbyes and make our way home. I'm in the cab with Newt again, and we are on the way to his house.

"Do you want to come over for dinner?" Newt asks me.

    I am a little nervous because this would be the first time meeting his family properly.

"Yeah, sure, just let me tell my mom," I say, opening my phone.

*ON THE PHONE*

Y/n: Hey I'm going to Newt's house for dinner. I'll be home around 7.

Mom: Ok have fun sweetie. Love you x.

*IN PERSON*

The cab ride was short, 10-15 minutes, maybe. We make it to Newt's house around 3. We step out of the car, and I pay the cab driver. We walk up to the huge white stone house and turn the knob on the door.
