9:43am"y/n," the teacher sighed as she looked down at the exam results, "your grades keep getting lower and lower."
i couldn't help but roll my eyes; my grades weren't the most important thing at the moment and all the constant nagging was getting irritating.
luckily, the teacher didn't catch the eye roll and continued, "i'm afraid i'll have to put you in a lower class if you continue to disappoint."
sighing deeply, "so what do you want me to do?"
"study, i can get some books for you to use as guidance." the teacher pushed her glasses higher up her nose bridge.
i rolled my eyes again but this time the teacher noticed.
"you know y/n," the teacher raised her eyebrows, "your attitude to learning isn't great either; i hope you try to think of positive sides of studying in the future."after i agreed to try to put in more effort, the teacher dismissed me.
it felt as if my legs were being dragged to the library as i could barely lift my feet up.the library was quite empty, with only a few uni students actually being dedicated.
classes for the day had finished and i was not necessarily expecting to be here. rather, i expected to be in bed, watching netflix and eating a tub of ice cream.taking a deep breath, i pulled down their backpack from my back and got out my stationary and revision books that my teacher kindly gave to me.
"damn you, algebra." i cursed under their breath as the questions overwhelmed me with complete confusion.
"yeah, i hate algebra too." a masculine voice arose and i slightly jumped. it had been so quiet in the library, i had almost forgot humans had mouths.
i looked up to the voice and saw a boy who had a cute smile plastered on his face.
"do i perhaps know you?" i looked at the boy warily.
"probably not," the boy sat across me, "but i can help you with whatever is bothering you."
i looked at the boy for a couple of seconds, analysing if he was worth talking to. i couldn't lie, the boy in-front of me was incredibly good-looking and the smile was super cute.
"alright; what's your name new kid?"
"i'm not new," he chuckled lightly whilst looking down and back up, "i'm yuta."
"ohh," i made a realisation face, "you're the japanese guy in chemistry!"
some people, including the librarian, turned to the sudden high volume and gave annoyed glances. yuta noticed and put a finger to his mouth, indicating me to quiet down.
"yes, but i'm not just in chemistry. i'm in most classes with you."
i looked at him amazed, "you're very observant."
yuta smiled a little brighter, eyes squinting slightly.
"well, what was the question you struggled with?""uh, everything." we both laughed and were given glares again.
immediately lowering our volume, yuta proceeded to explain the basics and question me little by little.
time whizzed by and both of us didn't realise the sun going down til the librarian walked over and coughed awkwardly interrupting our conversation.
"time to go children, its almost 8pm."
shocked, i checked her phone if i actually was there for 5 hours.
and yes i was. we mostly were joking around and getting to know each other better but there was also a decent amount of studying and taking quizzes.
"oh." yuta smiled awkwardly and quickly packed his equipment in his bags, me doing the same after him.
walking out together, yuta sparked a conversation, "we can study again tomorrow if you're down?"
for the first time in a while, i smiled at the thought of studying, "yes, ofcourse. after school?"
yuta nodded, with the smile he had carried on the whole time he was with me.
maybe i didn't need my teachers books anymore to study. maybe i needed yuta.
