With the windows and the sunroof open, Morgan and I's hair whipped in the wind, the air rushing over us like water. With Mateo and I determined to show Morgan the best of the best, we stopped at all the little shops and main places where teenagers would hang out, explaining each location like tour guides.

When we finally made our way towards the water, it was already heading into the evening. Alongside Taylor Swift's Red album, Mateo drove through our small town towards our second to the last stop on today's agenda, the pier. From the outside, he seemed like a stuck-up, rich, pretty boy, and well sometimes he is that, but to his close friends, he's a softie with an obsession with cooking and Taylor swift. I can't even count the number of times Jayde and I have slept over at his house and had woken up to pancakes and Folklore playing. He and Jayde never made me feel uncomfortable with excessive PDA, so hanging out at Mateo's house was easy, especially after the Tyler incident.

Getting out of the car, I opened Morgan's door for her, I don't have to be dating a girl to be a gentlewoman.

"Oh, thank you," Morgan said quietly, "You don't have to."

"Yeah, I don't, but I did," I joked with her.

Mateo walked around the front of the car to our side, where he threw an arm around me, gesturing with his free hand towards the path ahead of us, "This way ladies."

Acting as Morgan's tour guide, he turned around walking back towards the water, "To the right, we have our famous fish and chips shop, straight-ahead, our lighthouse, and to the left, we have a random seagull."

With his last comment, Morgan and I burst out laughing, scaring the seagull, which flew towards Mateo. Ducking down, Mateo stumbled towards the water, grabbing at the rope that guarded the edge, but instead of stopping his fall, he tripped over his own feet and fell in. Rushing to the edge, Morgan and I leaned helplessly over, waiting for Mateo to surface. Seconds later, we saw a drenched Mateo with a stupid grin on his face.

"And to the south, we have a drenched Mateo and a most likely broken cell phone," he laughed.

Making use of his five years on the swim team, he swiftly swam to the side. Grabbing both of his hands, Morgan and I pulled him up.

"Are you alright?" a concerned-looking Morgan asked hurriedly.

"He's fine," I replied for him, "he can hold his breath for over two minutes."

Nodding his head, Mateo agreed with me. "Besides my phone definitely being wrecked, Lex's right, you don't have to worry," he added.

"Alright then," Morgan quietly accepted his response.

"But," I interjected, "you're going to go home and change. it's going to get dark soon."

Completely and utterly refusing my proposal, Mateo's face twisted. "Who's going to take Morgan around? Plus, it's still hot out, I'll dry off in the sun," he tried to persuade me.

Standing awkwardly to the side while Mateo and I debated it out, Morgan looked down at her feet.

"What do you think he should do?" I asked the blonde girl.

Her head snapping up, she affirmed my idea, "Alexa's right, I think you should probably go home and change before you catch a cold."

"HAH I'm right take that!" I exclaimed pointedly towards Mateo.

The Swiftie stan gave me a funny look and nodded. "Alright," he said, "I'll go, but just remember you have to show her the caves, that's like the best part."

"Cool, I can do that. You still gotta pick us up though dude." I mentioned as I handed him my phone, he's going to need it just in case he gets stuck or something.
