Rez's POV:

I looked at Mercy who was in front of me. "Okay so, I'm not the best at explaining, so I guess I'll just show you most of it." She explained.

I nodded in response.

She stood up again and pointed into a direction behind her. "I know a village that's somewhere over there. I'd say we go there first."

"Okay." I spread my wings and reached out my hand for Mercy to grab. "I'll fly us there."

She looked at me with a shocked face. "Hell no, humans will see us and shoot us out of the air. We're walking."

"Oh come on, I'll just fly closer to the ground. It's good practice for flying between trees anyway." I protested.

"Fine, but I'm walking."

"What? Do you not want me to hold you?"

"Wha-?! No! I just want to be careful, there's humans everywhere you know."

"If you say so." I shrugged.

"Let's just get going."

I grabbed her arms anyway and flew to the ground as I then put her down. She just instantly started running to where the village probably was so I continued flying and followed her.

It had been a long time since I flew while dodging trees. In heaven we had an exercise where you had to fly as fast as you could while dodging poles which where scattered around the place. I could only do it once though, because it wasn't an exercise that I was assigned to do. Only because I was born as a stupid healer. I loved flying like that, even though there weren't even that much trees.

As I was zoned out, I almost flew against a tree, but I noticed just in time to fly past it instead.

Mercy was keeping up pretty well. Of course I was faster because I was flying, but she was really fast herself, while also dodging the trees successfully.

I was flying a bit in front of her, when I heard something crash into a tree.

I turned around, only to see that Mercy had crashed into a tree, but it looked like she had a big burn mark on her right arm.

I looked to my left and I felt fear fill my body. What I saw looked like a human, who had a fire ball in their right hand.

"Seems like I got a jackpot." The human spoke. "A catsune, which is okay, I guess. With a.. fallen angel, right? I didn't think they even existed, this is actually the first time I've seen one." The human said with a smirk.

"Why are you here?! Shouldn't you be asleep in your luxurious house and village?!" Mercy replied.

"Oh come on, it's way more fun to hunt at night."

"Just go home, it's one against two." I said, way less scared and more annoyed.

The human lifted up their right hand. "I don't think numbers matter in this fight." The fireball got send right at Mercy, I reached out my hand to make a shield but the fireball was so fast that by the time I even reached it out the fireball would've already hit her, but thankfully Mercy dodged in time.

I saw the human lift their left arm which also had a fireball in it now, Mercy wouldn't be ready for that one, but I was. Exactly when the human shot the fireball I created a shield which would stop the fireball. Well, if the shield even came. Nothing happened, there was no shield. The fireball hit mercy with full speed in her stomach and she got send into a tree a bit further away.

Then I remembered. Those who have fallen will never be able to use magic again. How could I forget such an important thing?!

I dodged the fireball that was about to hit me right in my face and flew at my opponent. As I got closer I dodged the 5 other fireballs that were send at me, but when I was about to kick the human against their head they grabbed my leg and threw me against a different tree, burning my leg a little in the process.

I caught myself with my feet and looked back at my opponent. To my surprise, I saw a cat biting the humans neck, while the human let out a pained scream. They threw the cat away and it hit a different tree behind them. I was confused at first, but when it emitted a blue glow I instantly knew that was Mercy all along.

When she turned back into her normal form she lifted both her arms up into the air. After not even a second I knew what she meant and flew over to her, grabbed her hands and flew away from the enemy.

After I noticed the fireball that was about to hit us, I quickly dodged it, the fireball barely hitting one of my wings.

"Ugh, now they'll never believe me." I barely heard the human say, understanding that they probably gave up.

I looked around for a stable tree branch, and about 5 seconds later I was sitting on one with Mercy in front of me again.

She held her right shoulder, her right arm didn't look that great, which makes sense since she just got hit by a fucking fireball.

I looked at it a bit longer while searching in my bag for a water bottle, when I felt the water bottle I grabbed it and reached out for mercy's hand. "This is gonna hurt." I warned her, she nodded and lifted her left hand so it was in front of her mouth.

I took off the cap of the water bottle and started pouring the water over her arm. In the corner of my eye I could see her bite into her hand.

About 5 seconds later I finished and grabbed the bandages from my bag. I quickly wrapped her arm with them, but so it wasn't messy.

"Thanks." I heard her mumble. "You're welcome." I responded.

"Was that a human?" I asked to be sure.

"Yep, one that stole the power of a species called spirit fire. Basically gives you fire powers." She explained in a serious tone.

"Hm, okay." I replied. "I guess we're not going to the village tonight, we'll go tomorrow instead."

"What? I can walk perfectly fine idiot."

"Yeah and if another human attacks us you only have 1 arm to fight with dumbass."

She sighed. "Fine, we'll go tomorrow."

"Thank you, goodnight."

"Goodnight."
