When June and Matt come back from picking up the food they are surprised to see that the poker game has turned into a karaoke party. July and Brian are on one team singing Sing Star against Andrew and Sandra who are winning by a mile.
"Wow, your mom is a wonderful singer." June says in awe of Sandra's voice.
"Yeah. It's a shame she doesn't sing very often." Matt replies.
"FOOOOOOD!" June yells and the attention is immediately shifted to her.
"I'll get the plates." Sandra says and puts her microphone down.
"And I'll get some glasses and drinks." Brian yells and runs to the kitchen and starts opening all cabinets and the fridge.
Matt laughs heartily. "This feels just like a happy family party. I like having your friends here along with my parents." June nods happily. "Me too."
Shortly after the table is set and they all sit down and eat. The food is so delicious that moans are heard all around the table.
"I can easily understand why Nari's your favourite." June says to Sandra who smiles fondly. "We go there once a month, Andrew and I, for our monthly date."
"Oh, that's so sweet." June smiles big.
"We actually have weekly dates also. Every Friday. It's important to keep the romance alive by taking time out of the schedule to just be together and enjoy each others company."
"This is an amazing piece of advice that I'm gonna keep close to my heart." June replies with a sweet smile.
"Oh mum." Matt chirps in with a devious grin. "Do you know what June said to me earlier?"
Sandra shakes her head and smiles. "No, but I'm excited to hear it."
Matt struggles to keep from laughing. "She called me Conrad. You know as in Conrad Hawkins." June's face is as red as a tomato and everyone else is laughing loudly. "You weren't supposed to tell anyone about that. It was the TV's fault! We just saw The Resident."
"It's just such a great story." Matt's still laughing.
"If you say so." June rolls her eyes
Sandra diverts the attention from June by telling her some stories about Matt that makes him blush and yell "Mom! Please don't say anymore."
The time flies and June spends the rest of the vacation with both Matt and her friends. During the day she's with her friends and then she spends the evenings and nights with Matt. They end up getting to know each other very well and she's very sad when it's time for her to go back home to Phoenix.
"I've had an amazing time here. This city is just wonderful." June sighs and kisses Matt.
"Don't be too sad baby. We'll see each other again in 10 days. The days will pass by quick, I promise." Matt says with a small smile.
"Thank god for that. See you, baby." She kisses him one last time before leaving his apartment. All of her friends are waiting for her outside.
"I'm so glad we have a few more days together in Phoenix." Brian says and they all nod in agreement. "Now let's get to the airport before we all regret it and stay here with Matt." They all laugh and shuffles down the stairs to the cabs that are waiting to take them to the airport.
June is silent on the short drive and Brian watches her with a guarded expression on his face. He's very happy that she and Matt will see each other again soon. It's very clear that they like each other very much.
"Have you two decided to make it official yet?" He asks with curiosity shining clearly in his eyes when they get to the airport.
"Yes and no. We're together but we're definitely not making an Instagram post about it." She responds with a laugh.
