Chapter 6: Death Pt.2

We left the shrine with more questions then answers, big surprise. Chiyo's grandmother wanted her to stay with her but Chiyo refused and came with us. We all walked back towards the school in silence, my mind was still trying to piece this together. But it was no use.
All we knew was that we weren't in our right time period. How is that possible? That we don't know, yet.
"What's that sound?" Jhope said.

Everyone stopped moving to listen, there was nothing but silence.
"What sound?" Yuna said in a terrified tone. "I don't know, it's like the humming of a flies wings, but louder" he said holding up his finger to listen.
We all stood still again to try and listen to what he was hearing. Still silence.
"I can't hear anything, it's just your imagination" jungkook said nudging jhope with his shoulder just before the humming got louder. "Wait I hear it" Choa said, I nodded and agreed with her. "What is that sound?" Kidoh said.

Just then this large creature in the form of a human with moth-like wings swooped down and grabbed jungkook and flew off, we could hear his screams and cries for help. "Holy shit what the fuck is that !!" Yano said. All our mouths were open in shock. "It's a flying shibito, uncle said he saw one a few months ago, I didn't think they actually existed" Chiyo said in complete shock, We all started chasing after it, after jungkook. We couldn't just leave him. Even if he did leave me that one time. We kept running after it until it decided to drop jungkook behind a couple of buildings, it hovered over the buildings for a few minutes until it flew off.

We all crept slowly towards the building, Me, Kidoh and Yuna went around the left and Choa, Yano and Jhope around the right, I peeped my head out to see, but the Worst case scenario happened. Shibito. Everywhere. "Fuck" I said in a harsh whisper, I shook my head at Kidoh and Yuna. "I don't see him" I whispered.
We went back to the front of the houses and waited for the others.
"What do we do? We can't just leave him? I promised his parents that I would protect him before we debuted" jhope said sounding concerned.
"Don't worry, we're not leaving him" Kidoh reassured him. "So what's the plan? What do we do?" Yuna said with her arms crossed.

Chiyo closed her eyes and concentrated, she's doing that weird eye of the Shibito thing again.
"Ok I've figured out their pattern, they're guards so they're movements are very limited, also your friend's in the shed I don't think he's hurt but he's being watched" Chiyo explained.
"Ok so what's the best course of action to take?" Jhope said eagerly.

Chiyo squatted down and started drawing in the dirt. "Ok here, here and here, there are Shibito, they move from here to here and here to here every two minutes, so when they're facing towards the forest, that's your best chance to sneak by them"
We all agreed that the quickest ones on our feet were Yuna and Kidoh, Chiyo knew when and where the Shibito would be So they'd be the ones to go and rescue him. "I don't want to go, can I switch with someone?" Yuna said raising her hand cautiously.

"Fine I'll go" I said stepping up.
We all headed back to the side of the building, I looked back at the rest and Yuna mouthed a thank you.
We waited for Chiyo's say so at the side of the building for about two minutes. "Ok...... Now !!" She said and we ran as fast and as quietly as possible.

We dove behind the bushes, thankfully the shibito didn't notice us. Chiyo closed her eyes and did that weird eye thing again. "There's one in the shed, your friends still alive.... It's weird, why haven't they killed him yet? It's not like the Shibito.. They don't take hostages, they don't show mercy... " she said with a concerned look on her face. "Well, let's go get his ass" I said.
Kidoh grabbed a blunt stick and we quietly walked towards the shed.

I peeped through the window and I saw jungkook sitting there, was he crying? I nearly let out a laugh. Kidoh stood beside me without my knowledge and startled me. "This is no laughing matter" he said in a serious tone. I lowered my head and nodded.
"Sorry" I turned my head back to the window and the Shibito was staring right at us, laughing, I nearly fell over because It frightened me.
"Shit" kidoh said and quickly tried to open the door. "It won't open !!" He said.

The Shibito walked towards jungkook with a sharp object. Jungkook stood up and tried to fend off the rotting corpse. I could do nothing but watch in horror.
The Shibito made sure we were watching and it took the sharp object it had and drove it through jungkooks stomach. Jungkook coughed and blood flew out of his mouth, he fell to the ground, gasping for air. I stood there, not knowing what to do. Everything went silent. I looked at kidoh and he was screaming at me but I couldn't hear anything, Kidoh kicked the door open and my mind came back to earth.

The Shibito pulled the knife out of jungkook and blood poured out of the wound, his eyes fluttered before closing. Kidoh took the stick and hire the Shibito as hard as he could, the Shibito ran outside laughing at us "you fools !! You fell for it !!" It shouted before disappearing into the darkness.
I ran inside and grabbed jungkook and rested his head on my lap.

"Jungkook !!! Jungkook !!" I shouted hitting his cheek lightly to try and wake him up. His breathing got heavier and heavier. He opened his eyes and looked up at me. I pressed my hand on his wound to stop the bleeding. "Go and get the others !!" I shouted at Chiyo who was watching in shock. She ran off as fast as she could.
Jungkook smiled and said "is this what dying is like? Staring up at a pretty girl? If so then I don't mind" i sniffles and Tears started pouring out and fell on his face.

He raised his hand slowly and wiped my cheek. "Stop crying" he said softly.
"Jungkook, I'm sorry... For the arguments" I said between sobs.
He smiled at me again. "Don't worry, it was fun seeing you all riled up by the way, what I said about your ass was a lie, you've got a great ass" he said laughing before wincing in pain. I wiped my eyes and smiled.

Jhope ran through the door and immediately sat down next to Jungkook crying. "Jungkook, I'm sorry, I'm sorry I wasn't here to save you, I'm sorry I didn't protect you" My heart nearly broke, you could tell from one look that they were close. "Hyung it's not your fault" Jungkook smiled and said before taking his last breath.
Jhope sobbed loudly into jungkooks chest. Nobody said a word. He deserved a moment of silence.
