It's a beautiful morning, and I seem to be void of all emotion.
After yesterday's series of crying, I feel so numb. Ironically, you can throw a brick at me and I'll still be standing alright.
I did my usual morning routine which includes work out of course.
I took a quick shower and wear an elegant dress that fits in perfectly, as I apply a little touch of makeup on my already flawless face.

Wondering why am trying to look my best today?

Well, I regret wearing something comfy yesterday, which made me seems low like that idiot said. plus I'll be going to a party with my boss later in the day. Well not exactly a party, it's more of a business meeting. It's just a sick way rich people use to show off their wealth.

I got to work at exactly 7:45 am (told ya I'm always early)

I was summoned by Nick the moment I step into my office.
As I take the stairs to his office, I kept praying to God not to make him talk about yesterday.

"Good morning sir, I greeted "

Morning Sarah. I hope you've prepared all the files we would be needing for the meeting later?

Yes, sir, I did as I was told and I'll have the files sent to your office once I return to mine.

That will be fine, he said waving me away.

I was about to step out of his office when he finally looks up from whatsoever he has been doing.

are you okay?

From his expression, I can tell he was talking about yesterday.
I'm fine, thank you.

I closed his office door as I stepped out before he gets to ask me any other question.

The rest of the day went by pretty fast or maybe I was just caught up with my work to realize how long I've been sitting there.

I got a message from my boss, saying it's time. I reached out for my purse, and bring out a few make-up products to touch my stressed face.

In case you're wondering why I have to go to the meeting alongside my boss, well I don't know the answer either.

I have been working as his secretary, PA and the company's PR. It's exhausting.
It's not like he can't afford to employ more workers and of course, he has, he just has to sack them a week or two after. The highest was a month.
He always complains about their lack of these and that but I think there's more to it.
So here I am doing about 3 people's jobs. Sometimes, I do hear my colleagues talking about me when they thought I wasn't listening but it's fine. Nick is a cool guy plus my life is not that eventful.

It's been a very long day, and I am tired.
I haven't been able to do anything productive this week because I keep having an emotional breakdown. So I have to do double the work I usually do, to keep up on track.

I met Nick and his driver at the car park And we went to the party straight up.
On getting there, we are welcome by flashes from different reporters asking if Nick and I are together.

Nick and I share a look, wondering what prompt the question.

As if they could read our mind, another one speaks " you two are always together in every social function so we need to know if something is going on"
No was all Nick said as we join the other guests in the party.

I wonder why there are reporters everywhere.

The party was still going on when someone called our attention saying the meeting is about to start.

After hours of arguing and throwing insults at each other, they finally come up with a final decision and ended the meeting.

I really can't understand you people I said to Nick as we leave the other business partner behind.

You see darling "we've our differences, and we certainly run our business in different ways so it's only normal for things like an argument to happen" but it's not always like that you know, it's just bound to happen when groups of successful businessman gathered together.

I nod my head understandingly because come to think of it, they all have different motives and goals so when they come together, it's normal for the little argument to come up. That only shows they're willing to learn from each other.

The night is still fresh and I want to get out of the party since all they do is flaunt about how successful they are, making me feel like I don't belong here. But then, Nick is not paying much attention to me, as he's engrossed in the conversation he's having with one of his friends I think.

I looked around to see if there's anything I can do till he's ready to leave and finally, I saw a familiar face who looks as bored as I am right now.

Hey Cassie " I greeted "

Sarah! She exclaimed

Yh, that's me I replied with a smile
How've you been?

Been good as you can see

And what are you doing here?

I'm here for a business meeting alongside my boss. And you?

I'm here to secure the role I'll be playing in my new movie. She replied

Awwn you are a good actress can't wait to see your new movie.

Thanks, darling.

We continue our chit chat until the person she was waiting for come to fetch her.
Bye girl, she said while giving me a quick hug.

Bye darling

In case you're wondering who Cassie is, Cassie is Natalie's friend whom she met in the industry. They became close friends, and she introduced us to each other.
Unlike every other actress, Cassie is quite the opposite. She's so cool that we hit off almost immediately so yes we're friends too.
We haven't been in touch for a while because of my busy schedule and she's chasing after her career too so that makes us even.

I was still looking at Cassie when I felt someone tap my back. It was no other than Nick.
Who is that beautiful girl?

Cassie?

Is that her name? "she's beautiful "

Yh, she is a cool girl

That's good. Wanna get going?

Yes, please...

He laughed at my impatience as he walked me out of the party and into his car.

He dropped me home since I wasn't able to go to the party along with my car.

Good night Sarah

Good night sir

It's Nick, "he corrected"

Goodnight Nick, I said as I hopped out of his car.
