Anakin walks into Palpatine's office where he is sitting at his desk looking at a holovoid what looked like a giant moon. Not interested in what it was Anakin paid it no mind, continuing on with what he had come here to inform the Chancellor about
"Chancellor we've just received the report from Master Kenobi, he has engaged General Grievous," Anakin said jealous it was not him out there engaging General Grievous, Palpatine responded quickly
"Any hope that Master Kenobi is up to the challenge?" Anakin looked down feeling even more annoyed about the topic of interest
"I should be there with him, but I'm not because of the council not trusting me!" Anakin all but growled out letting his frustrations release.
"It's upsetting to me to see that the council doesn't seem to fully appreciate your talents Anakin, don't you wonder why they won't make you a Jedi Master," Anakin started pacing the room acting like a wild animal in a cage because of what the Chancellor had said
"I wish I knew more and more but everyday I get this feeling that I'm being excluded from the council more everyday," Anakin stopped pacing and stood facing Palpatine
"I know there are things about the force they're not telling me. But Obi-wan assures me in time they will and I will get my spot on the council," Palpatine now was looking Anakin in the eye
"They don't trust you Anakin." Palpatine got up from the chair now walking towards Anakin and out the door, putting his hand on his back in the process
"They see your future, They know your power will be too strong to control. You must break through their fog of lies before it is to late" they walked in to the next room Palpatine taking his hand off of Anakin's back.
"Let me help you get to know more about the force in ways the Jedi will never," walking further into the room Anakin asks
"How do you know the ways of the force," Palpatine looks at Anakin silently asking himself whether he should reveal himself now
"My mentor taught me everything about the force. Even the nature of the dark side," Anakin steps in front of Palpatine, eyebrows furrowed
"You know the dark side?" Anakin asked, anger and confusion laced into his voice
"Anakin if one is to understand the great mystery, one must study all its aspects, not just the dogmatic narrow view of the Jedi if you wish to become a complete and wise leader you must embrace a larger view of the force." they both start circling each other Anakin subconsciously reaching for his lightsaber.
"Be careful of the Jedi Anakin, only through me can you achieve a power greater than any Jedi. Learn to know the dark side of the force and you will be able to save your wife from certain death." Palpatine stopped with Anakin coming to stop just in front of him.
"What did you say?" Anakin asked feeling more provoked and intrigued at the same time
"Use my knowledge, I beg you!" Palpatine pleaded, using all of Anakin's patience
"Your the sith lord!" It wasn't a question they both knew he was. Igniting his lightsaber they stared circling each other again. Anakin more confused he had ever been in his entire life
"I must report you to the Jedi council." immediately he turned to leave but was stopped by Palpatine voice speaking to him
"I could help you save Padme, Anakin. But only with the dark side can that be done." He told him his smile creeping onto his face. This made Anakin think for a while before coming to a decision. Knowing the correct option he ultimately decided to tell the council
"No they must know of this immediately," he said leaving the office. Palpatine walked over to the glass windows and stared out into the skyline of the city, thinking about how the events of the next few hours could unfold.
