Sanji did not regret many things in his life. Offering Nami to carry her bags though was certainly on top of his list. At the time being the shining knight to the cute red head seemed like a great idea but now with three of her bags over his shoulders (not to mention his own) and sweating like a madman he wasn’t so sure anymore. Honestly did she pack bricks or something?

With every step he took his sweet fantasies of all the counselling girls swooning over him at first sight seemed to vanish more and more. Sanji felt like an absolute mess, his shirt was sticking to his back from the sweat and well all the time he spent on his hair this morning was basically for nothing.

“Come on Sanji it can’t be much further!” Nami called out to him cheerfully, already a good few steps ahead.

Sanji huffed in annoyance, not exactly more motivated than the other three times she had said that. Nojiko, Nami’s sister had dropped them off at the parking lot down by the visitor’s information house and neither her nor the two teenagers had known that from there it would still be an hour by foot to reach the camp. He cursed himself for not looking it up sooner.

Nami was right this time though, a little over ten minutes later the two of them reached the wooden entrance sign. “Welcome to Camp Thousand Sunny”, greeted a big, smiling lion face.

“This is going to be amazing, Sanji! I can already tell this will be our most exciting summer so far!”, Nami jumped up and down in excitement ever the optimist. The amount of energy she had even after that hike was astonishing.

“Well we’ll see about that”, Sanji stated plainly not quite as convinced. He was actually quite hopeful though, either way this summer was certainly going to be different.

The camp director was odd to say the least. He introduced himself as Franky, insisting to be addressed by his first name. With his blue hair, a scandalously low unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt and triangular sunglasses he was certainly a sight. Since Nami and Sanji were the first counsellors to arrive, a day before the kids would, Franky made it his mission to give the two teenagers an exclusive tour, showing them around the camp proudly.

The campsite was huge. There was a main administration house where Franky and his staff resided. A main building with a cafeteria, a main area for attendance and the likes, a few smaller rooms for group activities and a kitchen where Sanji would be helping out from time to time. The cabins for the kids and counsellors were close to the main areas, all surrounding a huge clearing. Franky told them that for the group activities they would also be spending a lot of time in the surrounding woods and the nearby lake.

Sanji wasn’t going to complain, he had been looking forward to spending some time away from town. He never really felt like he quite belonged there. Sure, he had Zeff, his guardian, the Baratie and he had Nami his best friend since childhood. But Nami had other friends besides him and since Sanjis people skills weren’t exactly outstanding, especially with girls at that, he never quite hit it off with them.

The blonde boy had always been just a slight bit too much for other people, a little too awkward, a little too much of a dreamer, a little too much of a hopeless romantic but never quite enough either. It wasn’t even that people disliked him, he was well respected, but they weren’t incredibly fond of him either. Except for Nami of course, she had always been the exception and even though she was incredibly social and popular she was always there for him.

When the tour was finished Franky let Nami and Sanji go to their little cabins to freshen up. Since they were the first to arrive, they were allowed to choose which group of kids they wanted to supervise and Nami immediately went for the badly painted orange cottage.

There were four small bunkbeds in the common room of the lodge as well as a queen’s bed for Sanji, it was decorated in a sailor style with lots of blues accents and a few sea animals that had been painted on the walls by the kids staying there over the last years. A little door led to a shared bathroom with no more than a toilet and a sink, the showers were apparently outdoors. Sanji groaned, he was anything but happy with the lack of privacy and probably hygiene as well, but he would have to try to make the best of it. After all there was still the hope that the he would get to see the counsellor girls in their bikinis. That brought a little smile to his face. Maybe the next four weeks wouldn’t be so bad.

After freshening up and a not-so-quick change of clothes Sanji felt like himself again, even though Nami insisted that their time in this camp would cure him of his rather strong aversion to getting dirty he was not quite as certain about it.

He made his way over to Nami’s cabin and to his surprise she was already gone when he arrived, figuring he would most likely find her at the common house he made his way over to the big wooden building.

Right when he wanted to reach for the handle of the main door the door swung open with force, smacking Sanji right in his face. Sanji yelped in pain stumbling a few steps backwards. He held his nose and almost instantly he felt a few drops of blood in his palm.

“Can’t you watch where you’re going, fucking idiot?”

Sanji looked up to see a green haired guy scowling at him. He was a little taller than Sanji but seemed to be around his age.

Sanji quickly recovered from the shock and anger boiled up inside of him. How much of an asshole was that dude? Not only did he just ram the door in his face, but he was apparently not even considering being at fault here. The audacity this guy had!

“Wh..What the fuck? You just slammed the fucking door into my face! Watch where you’re going, mosshead!” Sanji barked back.

The green haired boy just rolled his eyes and pushed past Sanji, murmuring an angry “Tch… whatever” under his breath. Sanji just watched him leave in bewilderment. What the fuck was that guys deal?
