The sun seeped through the windows, causing a lake of light to be shown on the ground. The clinking of forks and knives echoed through the screendoor. Tiger, a small tabby tom cat, sat at the door, frequently meowing to see if one of those two-legged animals would drop him a piece of bacon. Tiger had reconized this scent because it seemed to be served frequently.

The screendoor opened and out came a girl with blonde hair that had been braided. Tiger purred at her feet and rubbed himself against her legs. "Come on, Tiger," she said to Tiger, which had already rushed in through the open door. Loud laughing and the clinking of culinary tools filled Tiger's ears. The scent of meat was strong here, and a finished plate was lied down by the sink.

The plate had one last piece of bacon that was half aten, along with small puddles of grease that almost covered the whole plate. Tiger studied the family, watching to see if any of them was paying attention to him. After a while, he hopped onto the counter and lowered his head down to the plate, snatching it and dropping it onto the ground. One of the family members had noticed, and before they could get to him, he had already jumped down and ran off with the leftover piece of bacon.

Tiger felt the stomping of a boy running after him, and he felt his heart racing with each second that passed. He sprinted toward a open door and ran under a bed. The stomping stopped shortly afterwards,  and Tiger licked down his fur that had stood up during the chase. He finished grooming himself and took a chomp out of the piece of bacon. He kept taking bites out of the meat until there was none left.

He chewed and swallowed the last piece, as he felt the need to sleep linger in his eyes.  He nosed through dust and loose papers and made his way to the corner. He padded down the carpet and curled up in the corner, sneezing due to all the dust that was collected under the bed. He silently placed his head on his paws, as he felt his eyes slowly droop down, as he slowly fell into a deep sleep.
